what should I use for coolant?
I always leave my system run and I have two rez with a siler strip in them , can I just use distilled water even tho I would love pastel blue

Distilled with some PT nuke is all I've been using for years, and even the PT nuke probably isn't required if you plan to run 24/7.

Plain old distilled water. While silver is a "thing" with some people the type of silver does matter. Adding more metal to water cooling that already has 2 or 3 different types of metal isn't a good idea unless you are using some form of inhibitor and are actively removing oxygen from the loop.

I just use distilled water from shoppers drug mart. A couple shots of 50/50 glycol will do the same thing as silver without the possible chemical reaction.

makes sense , the silver strip I got is for the water cooling loops but I think I wil remove it and just go distilled and glycol; 50 50 , or buy some pale blue and go with that :)
right now I have primachill in it

Try and get propylene glycol if you go that route its food safe. Straight distilled is fine if you run your loop all the time like me.
cool yea I leave her run for ever lol hate booting up with such a slow 7200 rpm drive but I am in the works of fixing that very soon:)( thanks AKG ) so even tho I will have a ssd for os and a intel910 nonbootleable ssd of 800 gig I will leave system run 24/7

I've been watercooling pc's since 2004 and to be honest I have tried pretty much every fluid.
Currently I am using Mayhems Pastel fluids and am enjoying them.
Is your reason for asking to determine which fluid is the best performing fluid or the best for anti corrosion and anti microbial?

I tend to upgrade every 6 months or so, so the fluid in my loop is drained and flushed once or twice a year.

I too have tried everything from distilled to just about every pre-mixed you can think of.

Pre-mixed are nice, and will get you about 1-2C cooler than distilled with something like a Mayhems biocide (I've also done silver kill coils as well, but now, I just use a biocide), but are they worth 20-40 times as much money? I don't think so. They only exception to this for me is when I want an opaque look to my cooling tubes. In that case I go with a pre-mix. Otherwise, just good old distilled and Mayhem dye.

I usually drain and refresh every 6 months and do a tear down and scrub once every 12-18 months.
