Crappy Used Computer Parts Ads

@moocow ISTR seeing a video of someone(it MIGHT have been Linus) doing that very thing..... IIRC, the person doing the deed, had some other, older CPU, that they simply plucked a couple of pins from, and soldered them onto the newer CPU that had a few broken off, and it worked fine. I'm sure for someone with the equipment and experience, this sort of fix is 'child's play', but certainly not something I'd want to pay $50 to experiment with.

Dude wants $3K for a dead-end Mac Pro from 2019. 48GB of DDR4 ECC is about $400 on eBay. That GPU is kind of useless because it doesn't support rocm 7.2, only the older rocm6 (RDNA 1). A replacement board, usually 2 socket, are like $400. If Apple is still supporting Intel CPU, may be worth $1200 but this year's MacOS will be the last OS for Intel. So who knows if Adobe or any other software will just drop X86 in 2 years.
