I've upgraded the BIOS on my Crosshair MB to version 1207, now I can no longer OC the CPU, I have a AMD X2 4600 2.4Ghz, it was OC to 2.7Ghz.
I use using 247*11= 2.7Ghz
Now everytime I try to OC to what it was I get some irregular numbers for example:
247*11= 3.1Ghz
I've tried different combination with the same results, it's only stable at 2.5Ghz

Can someone please explain to me how can I backflash BIOS to 0804 version.
I'm using a USB key as I don't have a floppy drive.
I've managed to have it boot from the USB key, no problems there.
I've tried AWDFLASH, and AWD859G without success.

Can someone guide me in how to backflash the way it was, for sure I'm missing something.

I don't believe its officially supported, but I've used the AsusUpdate utility from their website to update the Bios of my Crosshair from Windows. When the program opens, you'll have a pull-down menu with options like "Update bios from internet..." etc etc but there will also be one called "options" or "settings". Go into that menu and there should be a box you can check marked "allow downgrade" or "allow rollback" (again, i don't remember, its been a while). Once that's checked, you should be able to "Update Bios from file..." and specify an older Bios to do the flash from Windows. Hope all the info helps!

Got it.....
This was a few hours of troubleshooting and headaches.
In order to backflash the BIOS you have to create a USB bootable disk.

You can do it very easily if you have a "a:\" I DON'T.
Which made the task much difficult, however a few searches and research, I figured out how to make a USB BOOTABLE drive.
Used AWDFLASH.exe to backflash to the original BIOS.

It took sometime, however I'm back to normal.
The computer it's alive, it's alive

Remember the old rule of thumb "Newer isn't always better" Bios updates are meant to solve specific problems experienced by the end-user they are not like drivers its not likely you will see improvments in performance. In many cases if you are not experiencing any of the problems its best not to upgrade.

I had simliar problems with my M2N32-SLI Deluxe after updating the bios to the latest ver. I had serious complications with video and sound and like you had to flash back to solve the problem.
