VCZ reporting that DDR5 prices are dropping slightly. It also included a HWC post on X about OpenAI's contract with chip makers. Apparently those contracts are Intent to Buy (options) and not hard purchase agreement. Micro stock drop 9%.

Oh, it's not just OpenAI backing out of the letter of intent, apparently there was some kind of issue with Project Stargate. Yes! Die faster! Take Oracle down too!

This is the news I needed today. Building a PC on a student budget in Ontario is getting impossible with these prices. Hopefully, we see more drops before the summer term starts!

it would be nice to see, however, there seem to be a number of market influences according to this article I read this morning that seem to refute optimism.

NAND Flash contract prices are now rising faster than DRAM.
