Has anybody played this? I'm surprised I missed this launch... pretty much exactly the kind of game I'm normally on the look out for.

I haven't played the second one yet but I played the first one quite a bit. From what I have been reading on the second one it has improved on pretty much everything from the first.

If you enjoy turn base rpgs you'll likely enjoy it.

I was playing t for a while there is allot to know with combinations and skills and such I had to restart twice because I screwed up my character builds ended up being a rogue hybred and till am learning at level 65 Iuld suggest reading allot if you want to get serious into this game lol

My experience is the same as Groove's. Played the first one, liked it, put the second one on my Steam wishlist. Lots of very positive reviews out there. I was kind of hoping it would come up in one of Xeven's giveaway rounds! :)

Same here. First one is great, and I highly recommend you start with that one as the second one, from what I understand, is a story continuation from the first. (I have the second one on my wishlist, but haven't played it yet.) They play like a modern version of Baldurs Gate/NeverWinter Nights. And they have a solid option for multiplayer campaigning.

the game does , there is also huge amounts of side quests the first char I made and messed up I was lost from the actual main quest because I was doing allot of side quests then of course every time I went into town I was attacked took me a long time to figure out why it ended up being because I switched out the robe of my undead char not realizing that everyone see's his actual face lol there are later in the game places where you can get 1 hit killed .
I stopped playing because I was getting lost for hours in the game hehe.

I was going to, but I never found decently priced keys. :haha:

I started the game and I created my first character, but I thought that I didn't go a job with my build. I have to restart, but I'm a bit busy with another game at the moment so it will take some time to go back.

Is that other game thinking up clues to befuddle our minds in the giveaway rounds? :bleh:

Heh, just came here to post a thread about this game as I hadn't seen one.

This is hands down the best RPG I've played in years. Probably since Baldur's Gate / NWN. I know people rave about The Witcher 3, but I just couldn't get into it. This on the other hand, has me completely sucked in.
I love how the game gives you the freedom to play however you want. My co-op playthrough with a friend we may have accidentally-on-purpose massacred nearly every single person in Fort Joy. I probably have 40-50 hours clocked already and I'm only up to the second main area, which is just a fraction of the full game. Funny thing is I'm already planning another playthrough once I get done with differently specced characters. Not to mention a solo playthrough or two...

If anyone is on the fence about getting it, I can say it is absolutely worth it. Even better that it only cost me $10 due to steam credits from selling PUBG crates :)

The ONLY problem I have with the game is that the entire fight area often ends up being one massive ball of fire, resulting in enemies and allies alike being immolated. However, that may or may not be the result of my pyromancer getting a little enthusiastic with his use of explodey spells...

Great info GregH, thanks! Do you need to have finished the first one to get the story of whatever in the second? As I said, I have the first and like it but am a long way from finishing it.

My suspicion is that if I played the second one and it is better in most ways as people say, I wouldn't return to the first!
