FCC to ban sale of routers not made in USA

Contraband routers from Canada maybe . :)
That would earn you time in an ICE detention center. Let them ban everything not made in American and then quickly recognize they got zero skilled workers to run the imaginary factories. I'm talking about people that don't know basic math and a country with 30% of people that can't read and write. TikTok is probably a long term weapon to make Western countries more stupid.

I'm guessing there will be some sort of "tax" or "fine" to pay to get around this too like everything else. I suppose it only impacts new models? Perhaps Americans will just get stuck with the current-gen of products until they run out.

well when i got my hands on the ROG wifi 7 Routers they were just becoming available when they first went on sale you couldn't get them in Canada had to wait a 5-6 months after release to even buy one. but i got the BE 96 in Garage Meshed with the GT 98 Pro inside.

So that leaves Starlink and that is about it.
If you gave me a choice to trust Musk/DOGE/whatever alt-right he's allied himself with or the Chinese government, I'm not sure I'd trust Starlink over the Chinese gov't.

That being said, it sounds like there's an exemption process so I'm guessing it's another grift by the Trump admin and Linksys/Cisco/Netgear etc will just grease the right hands and the routers that are made in Vietnam, Taiwan or other SE Asian countries will be allowed.

This has always been my position on the Chinese spying hardware issue. Quite frankly I could care less what information the Chinese government gets on me, I'm a hell of a lot more worried about what 5 eyes orgs are scooping up as that's something that might actually affect me personally.
