Hello all, I was wondering if any of you know of any good free photo editing tools? Or student deals for Photoshop. I'm no expert but I'd like to hone my photo editing skillz. Thanks!

I think GIMP is the main contender. Paint.NET isn't too bad either but not as advanced.

There's a bunch of online "Photoshop" alternatives as well. Can't think of any of them off hand though.

Paint.NET is definitely great for beginners.
If you're looking for student discounts, Adobe offers up to 80% off on some software.
Just look under Store -> Education. They have Photoshop CS4 Extended for US$199.
Be aware that CS5 is coming real soon though.

I believe Photoshop actually has an simple online version for photo editing. I've never tried it but its worth a shot. https://www.photoshop.com/ and you can just make an accouint, upload pictures and edit them. I apologize if it sucks though lol, again I've never tried it.

Paint.NET. GIMP is only useful if you don't mind fighting with the interface whenever you want to get something done. PDN can perform most of Photoshop's common functions.
