Help me chose a *Flat TV*!

Yes I am crazy! I would suggest you go to a local Hi-Fi center, as they will have much better options for you than BestBuy.

Since you live in montreal Patriote, try going to Access Eletronique (formlerly ddo electronique) and get some Quest speakers. Theyre decent quality and half the price of the bestbuy ones. Tell em Kris sent ya ( I used to work there, lol. Actually... i used to work many places.... )

I have to chime in here to recommend you do NOT purchase a compact 5.1 satellite system. The idea that those little speakers can reproduce good sound is complete marketing hogwash, no matter how much you're paying for them. They are barely passable for movies and rely on you being stunned by the 'surround' effect and the boomy sub to not notice the terrible sound. If you only watch action flicks and only listen to hip hop, then by all means. Otherwise, get some real speakers. A pair of decent towers will sound much much better than a cheap 5.1 system. And no, future shop does not carry any decent towers. Go to a local store and don't buy anything that isn't heavy, real speakers are made of real wood.

Patriot! Awesome Sharp! I have had mine for more than 6 months now, and I am still so happy with it!

For speakers, I definitely suggest choice 2. A good reciever with seperate speakers. Those Harman Kardon are a great starting point. Then when you have some extra cash, get a 5.1 setup from Definitive..... MMMM and their Reference Subwoofer.... It's a pleasure to feel!

Thanks for the replies guys!

vinister : I have no other choice to buy from Futureshop or Bestbuy since i have a contact @ those 2 places that can get me rebates as high as 50%...

I think i will go with the option 2 and i should be good for a first Home Theater.

Or @ the very least, i will keep my Pioneer VSX-815 and use it instead of that other 7.1 Pioneer. We'll see. Anyway, thanks for the replies!
