Yes. HFW picks up right after HZD. A lot will be familiar but they've added a considerable amount into the game. It can be much, much longer with all the side quests and the DLC. (played both on PS4/5 - replayed HZD on the PC as well).
The complete edition title is confusing me a little. Is this release actually HZD and HFW bundled together making it complete, or is it the complete edition of HFW... on its own...??

Horizon Zero Dawn is the first game. Which included The Frozen Wilds DLC.

Horizon Forbidden West is the 2nd game. Complete just means it includes the Burning Shores DLC.

I ended up restarting the game. I just couldn't hack Ultra Hard. I spend over 2 hours fighting the same damn 3 enemies. On Very Hard I had it done in under 5 minutes.

One way this game has every other game ever beat, is how fast and effortless it is to start playing when you launch the game. Space skips all splash screens. Hit space again to automatically load your game. No mouse no nothing. 15s max from the time you click the shortcut till you are in the game.

I am finding keyboard controls are aggravating at times when vertical traversal. I didn't really find this an issue w/ the first game. However there are way more puzzles in HFW.

I don't think I've ever seen a game with so consistent frame rate. With frame generation on (which is the by far the best implantation of any game I've played) I get such consistent smooth framerate. 120-140FPS everywhere. I've seen it drop below 110FPS maybe 5x in 80 hours.

HDR is so good. HDR off in comparison is so dull. It is the biggest difference between SDR and HDR I've ever seen in a game.

Also of interest is the fact that Guerrilla Games initially started out with the multiplayer shooter game Killzone (PS3), then switched over to a single player game.

I found that with HDR in the first one too. It is the game I would always load up when I wanted to show people the difference HDR can make in game and that is isn't just a gimmick! :) Now HDR in Dragon's Dogma 2... uh... nope. That's a total mess on my system for some reason and I have to play with it turned off.
