Hey everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone has started receiving their 9900k's in Canada. Been hearing about some pretty long ETA's and I thought I'd ask if whether some of you guys have received yours and if so, from which store?

Cheers

nobody ordered 9900k

Wow that is a whole mess of uselessness.

As for the OP not sure if anyone has gotten theirs or not, but I do know that as of mid-Friday MemEx had about 170 orders waiting to be filled just for the online orders. So, it could take a bit.

Some people on reddit expected their processors and when they didn't arrive, claim they cancelled their pre-orders... I don't believe them.

Imho, it doesn't matter what the ETA is as those dates can be extended depending on Intel's issues (with stock). If you are not patient, then .... :)

I've read dates like October 18 or 19th and some even saying some time in November is a possibility (for some orders).

I haven't got mine but I read a thread on reddit where the guy said MemEx didn't expect stock until January, I don't know if there's any truth to it. Kinda was expecting to have it at the very latest by late November.

With all the fab shortages, I'm going to say this is going to be a repeat of the 8700k launch, that is to say there will be some small numbers coming out and people obtaining them, but by and large most folks looking to get one will be stuck waiting till January/February

Well I'm really hoping they have availability at the start of the new year as that is when I want to get one. I should hear back at some point today with regards to a better estimate on when more will be coming in, with regards to MemEx that is.

That'll be a risky move on Intel's part with all the AMD launches in Q1 if they aren't able to deliver chips in volume until January.

Sounds like Intel is moving some of the work over to the Vietnam fab (Test & Finish) and they're investing in their Ireland fab as well. It seems odd to invest in 14nm at this point in time though, but I guess they need to satisfy current orders/demand.

I think Intel has been releasing too many "refresh" chips lately. Has there really been any architecture changes since Skylake? They probably should of just made the lifecycle longer back then when they realized their 10nm was facing delays. A lot of Enterprise customers were/are still buying Skylake for that matter too if they need Win7 support.

Interesting times ahead!
