In a possible bid to be a little more competitive with AMD in the best value chip category, Intel has trimmed the prices of 6 of its entry processors across 5 different lines. yeah ones the price drops for the i7 1366's come thats when the exciting stuff happens and ppl get nerd-gasms

I think the i3 550 is pretty much the best bang-for-buck computer part there is now... Not at stock clock speeds of course, but you overclock that thing to 4.8 and it's all good. Personally haven't had great luck with i3's though, but I see most of them hit 4.6, and in most applications, that's faster than my overclocked i7 920...

I'm currently playing with an i3 530, and have been reasonably impressed with it. The 550 at a lower price is certainly worth a look considering how well these things OC under air.
