Nice to see that we'll have marginally cheaper i7 based laptops.

But as far as the i3 goes, I still like the Athlon 620

I think the i3 550 is pretty much the best bang-for-buck computer part there is now... Not at stock clock speeds of course, but you overclock that thing to 4.8 and it's all good. Personally haven't had great luck with i3's though, but I see most of them hit 4.6, and in most applications, that's faster than my overclocked i7 920...

At least the i3 is cheaper, but i second flyingfish on the matter of the athlon 620...

I'm currently playing with an i3 530, and have been reasonably impressed with it. The 550 at a lower price is certainly worth a look considering how well these things OC under air.
