We've had several discussions on here that have included DXracer chairs. Dmitry also did a review of the D-series. I am still considering a King (K) series one. I'm 6'4" and ~235 lbs so I was wondering if anyone of silimar size to me who has one would be willing to provide their personal review after having had one for a while. Would appreciate some more long term opinions of comfort and how the seats have held up.

*begin rant*
As an aside, their site is a bit frustrating. Inconsistent information about chair dimensions depending on where you look on the site, inconsistent naming of the chair models, little information about the reason for the series model number differences (I found some info after digging, and they are different, but it ain't obvious), missing descriptions for some series, buying guide doesn't include all the series options, etc. I think they really need a website overhaul. Makes it a little unnerving to buy something like that online when there is inconsistent information and you are unable to determine exactly what you're getting before you lay down your $700+ CAD!

Alright, so maybe there aren't any tall strapping folks with these chairs! :) Anyone who has had one for a year+ care to comment on how it's holding up and what your opinion is after using it long term? Thanks.

Their .ca website ain't the greatest, but the .com one pretty much has all the info.

You can look at this chart for the chairs dimension in case you haven't seen it:

As you've probably seen in other threads, I absolutely love mine. I bought mine last June, so getting close a one year now and it still looks its brand new and I've been using this thing extensively. The quality is outstanding, its extremely solid and the leather is durable. Mine is a Drift Series though (I'm 6'1" and about 200lbs) so not as much as an investment compared to the King Series. But I have a friend who's about your size and he plays on my PC every time is over and he likes the chair a lot so I'm sure the King would fit you fine. Comfort is really a personal thing though so its hard to say if you'd find it to your liking, best thing as you know is to try it. They had some in demo at my local canada computers so I had the chance to try my model before buying it so that really helped my decision of buying one. I think Costco carries them as well.

For sure its a lot of money though but I don't necessarily find them overpriced like some are saying. Before buying mine I tried countless of other "ergonomic" chairs that easily were in the $1000+ range and I just didn't like them enough to justify that price. My DXRacer was less than half of that and fitted me perfectly. When I think about it, my chair is probably the piece of furniture I use the most in my whole house so IMO a good chair is totally worth the investment DXRacer or not depending on which one fits you best.

Thanks Groove. Embarrassingly, I hadn't thought of checking the US site, assumed they were the same. Out here in NS I can't find any local places to try one. We really need some bigger PC focused stores here in Halifax. And your right about the price of a good chair. It is a worthwhile investment for sure, kind of like spending money on a good monitor! *wink wink*. I tried to save a couple hundred on the chair I am sitting in right now and I have been regretting it ever since! Although I thought is was good in store in the end it never seemed to fit me right. I am basically comparing the dimensions of the King series to my really good chair at work. They are the same or nearly the same in all the key dimensions but even with that it is risky to spend the money on one having not actually sat in it! The King series is still cheaper than my work one, but the work type is still an option. I actually like the DXRacer styling better for my home PC area though. We'll see.

Out of curiosity, do any of the big box stores(staples/bestbuy/costco/etc) have floor models to try out? I'm overdue for replacing my 10+ year old computer chair.

I haven't seen any here in Moncton at either the Costco or the Staples. OTOH, everything is returnable at Costco so if you get it home and really don't like the fit you can bring it back.

I know Costco carries them online, but I have never seen any chairs in-store aside from their own brand. You could always order the one you think you might want online and return it to any store if it's not right for you.

Good god. I'm in the market for a new chair too (this one is ~8 years old). But the amount of options with these DX chairs...how do you even begin?!

For reference, I do have an R series chair (fabric). I am about 155 lbs (70ish kgs) and 5'8" tall, fairly small body. PMed DXracer Canada on Facebook before buying a one and I told them everything about my body, from height, weight, shoulder size to waistline. Then they've suggested me to get an F or R chair.

Bought the R series because the seat is not bolstered. Meaning I can spread my legs whenever I want and not having to keep it together all the time like in the F's seat. But that's just my preference.

I have emailed them a few times too and they have been pretty responsive and long suffering with my many questions.

Sagath, best to use their buying guide as a start. This is the one on their US site US Shopping Guide and there is one on the Canadian site too CAD Buying guide. Like I said, the CAD site is a bit inconsistent with its info but either of those should get you started based on your body parameters. Just a little additional clarification from them via email: The Iron version is the bigger version of their D (Drift) model, and K (or King) is the bigger version of their F (Formula) model. For me, they said if I have wide shoulders (I do) and wide waist (not sure about the latter, 36-38 waist?) they would recommend the K series.

Costco would be a good option but when I check CAD Costco online I can only seem to find Drift and Formula series chairs, not the King or Iron series.
