These connectors need to go away, or have a reduced official capacity. AMD doesn’t mandate it like nvidia, but it’s an option. After a year in use, this user started having crashes and found this lovely nugget when troubleshooting:

My theory now is that the design tolerance is so low that any manufacturing quality issue makes them ticking fire balls. We do see similar stuff like this in Molex, especially the converter plugs (thick 4 pin to SATA for example). When you have to tell the end user to avoid bending the cable a certain way, then you probably have a design issue. There's no way to account for all kinds of case design and how people route their cables. Not everyone runs an expensive case with proper routing channels built in.
