Got some more toys in today ... not for this project (I wish I had ordered it before now though), but rest assured, you'll see it used in a future project of mine.

A bunch of various samples of different materials to see what I might like for future builds.

And a strip heater to make bends in plastic/acrylic much better. This will allow near perfect 90 degree bends without warping. Gone will be the old heat gun method of heating/bending.

Here is a Youtube video of what that strip heater does: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHzyuBnxX5I

That is a damn nice unit 47 , I bet you can bend hard tube easily with that make any shape you want
!
heat hard tube wrap around a piece of pvc and do spirals like a spring etc etc

Minor update (It's double elimination night on Big Brother).

The clear wire combs and the USB 3.0 extension cables came in finally.

Kadmlcw.jpg

The combs will keep the custom wires nicely spaced so they look perfect.

Now that the mess of wires is slowly getting cleaned up, I can put the "dog house" over the drive bay and you can start to see how I can hide that mess and still have it look nice.

I'll clean up the routing later, and once the 18" SATA data cables come in, I can FINALLY clean things up and keep the "dog house" in place all the time.

The will come mounting the GPU water block and the last bit of hardline tubing.

Haven't been feeling that well, so it's been slow going, but I did manage to do a totally custom PCIe cable and sleeve it. Not an extension, a full on cable.

Now on to the 24-pin motherboard cable! I got all the wires cut to length, now to put the ends on the wire and hope I have enough MDPC Orange sleeve (I have plenty of black and grey).

Now to start making the 24-pin motherboard cable.

QrRZUlc.jpg

Given that many power supplies (including the one that I'm using now) are NOT a pin-to-pin connector, I've elected to go with making a 24-pin extension ... just in case I change PSU's later on.

The only thing I hate about doing a 24-pin cable without using heat shrink on the ends ... your fingers get painful when you are fusing the sleeve to the pin with a lighter. OUCH!

I just hope I have enough orange to do this. I don't think I do. I might have to reuse some that I stripped off my old case, wash it, and hope for the best. That or I'll I've to see if anyone has about 2 meters of it for sale.

Oh well, time to rest my fingers for a bit and play some video games.
