1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.
- Mainly gaming... also coding with netbeans and maybe some flash actionscript

2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread
- Hopefully under $1500

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.
- Canada westcoast, 10 min from an NCIX, so more than likely going to pick up parts there

4. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc, etc, etc, you get the picture.
- not a fanboy, but i have some preferences I'll say later on...

5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.
I already have a 23" monitor 1980x1080, wireless keyboard, gaming mouse, speakers.

6. IF YOU have searched and/or read similar threads.

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.
I'd like to stay at default, I want this guy to last a long time

8. WHEN do you plan to build it?
Payday is on friday... if not this weekend, then 2 weeks from then after another payday

9. What resolution do you use?

Sooo, hi guys. Heres what I'm thinking, getting everything from NCIX.

you kind of gotten the one mobo ppl wouldve told you about.

922 case wise, 932 not worth its bang per buck

same with gtx 470. bang per buck not very good.

also as you may know, new chippies are about to hit the block, same with videocards. well,about as in a month or two or such away. nice price for that cpu though

Looks good. You might want to consider the Coolermaster HAF-X for your case. Make sure you pricematch everything, you have a good price on the 950. :thumb:

One thing someone else can chime in on if I am wrong, but I seem to remember there being problems PM to newegg...can anyone confirm/deny that?

There's always new stuff around the corner... If you're saying they will stop selling the gtx 400 series when new stuff comes out, then I might wait, but otherwise i'll just get my sli getting on for cheap in a few months :bleh:

Nevermind, the $300 price for the CPU was on newegg US site not cad... Although NCIX is having a sale on it for $310 if i buy it soon, and then I can get the rest in a week or so.

I saw that the haf 922 was only $5 cheaper compared the the 932 on ncix, hence my choice, but I could get it for $90 if pm'd with newegg, $45 cheaper than the 932! Then I could just slap a 200mm on the side for $20.

Problems pm'ing with newegg? We need some input in here!

New Builds

Looks like you've been doing some research. I like the choice of mobos, I have one and it's been great!

Consider getting the HX series psu. Modular is so much easier to work with, and eliminates unnecessary cabling.

For memory, look at Mushkin memory, NCIX has it for $133 for lower latency, #996826.

I have the HAF X and would suiggest it is worht the extra money especially for cooling thew gpus. It comes with a support bracket for gpus, and an aux.fan shroud to help keep them cooler. It keeps my 480 cool enough to touch without fear of burning. Mind you, I put a high flow fan in there, but it works great! With the sata3 hot swap bays, usb3 external ports, it makes it a good choice.

The expansion slots in the back are 9 instead of the usual 7.

Consider getting a smaller HDD for your OS, or at least partitioning your drive, say approx. 100gb. This is more efficient, and if you eventually get a SSD for your OS, it gives extra storage.

I would consider either getting a 460 or 480 setup rather than the 470. 2 460s in sli outperform a single 480.

I just might get the haf x now... Would I need a modular PSU given that the haf x has that psu cover thinger that could hide the unused cables? Im fine with unused cables as long as they don't obstruct airflow too much.

I was thinking the 470 as right now the 480 is a little pricey for me...

As for starting with dual 460's, that only leaves room for one more in the future, I'd like to upgrade a bit more than that in the years to come.

and for gpu upgrades, id stick with the 460 sli, since in a couple years when you plan on adding another 470, even that will be obsolete. put it like this.

sub 200 right now would be the ncix 768 meg specials, with the mail in rebate. there were two,i think. gigabyte and msi. check the site.
