1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.
- Mainly gaming... also coding with netbeans and maybe some flash actionscript
2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread
- Hopefully under $1500
3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.
- Canada westcoast, 10 min from an NCIX, so more than likely going to pick up parts there
4. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc, etc, etc, you get the picture.
- not a fanboy, but i have some preferences I'll say later on...
5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.
I already have a 23" monitor 1980x1080, wireless keyboard, gaming mouse, speakers.
6. IF YOU have searched and/or read similar threads.
Yes?
7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.
I'd like to stay at default, I want this guy to last a long time
8. WHEN do you plan to build it?
Payday is on friday... if not this weekend, then 2 weeks from then after another payday
9. What resolution do you use?
1980x1080
Sooo, hi guys. Heres what I'm thinking, getting everything from NCIX.
Intel Core i7 950 Quad Core Processor LGA1366 3.06GHZ Bloomfield 8MB LGA1366 4.8GT/S
- $300 ($350 price matched to neweggs 299, you can do that right?)
Corsair XMS3 TR3X6G1600C9 6GB DDR3 3X2GB DDR3-1600 CL 9-9-9-24 Core i7 Memory Kit
- $150
GeForce GTX 470 625MHZ 1280MB GDDR5 3.348GHZ PCI-E Dual DVI-I Mini HDMI
- $350 (I'd like to go SLI later on)
Cooler Master Haf 932 Full Tower EATX Case 6X5.25 1X3.5 5X3.5INT No PSU USB eSATA 1394 Audio - Black
- $130 ( I like the 200mm fan pointing at the GPU, I heard the 470's get warm. I think I'm one of the only people who think this case looks awesome )
Corsair TX750W 750W ATX 12V 60A 24PIN ATX Power Supply Active PFC 140MM Fan
- $130 ( Should this be enough for 470 SLI in the future? )
ASUS P6X58D-E X58 ATX LGA1366 3PCI-E16 PCI-E1 2PCI CrossFire SLI USB3.0 SATA 6GB/S Motherboard
- $252 ( I no nothing about mobo's. This one was on the ncix pc builder, is it good? )
Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB SATA3 6GB/S 7200RPM 64MB Cache 3.5IN Dual Proc Hard Drive OEM
- $104
DVD drive and flash card reader
- $49
Total = $1465 CAD x 1.12% = $1640.80
Input? Thanks in advance! :canadianwave:
