Need help with with overclocking i7 860 properly.

Been trying to get my 860 stable at 4.0, 3.8 no problem at all. What are the voltage setting you used? Would be fod to see some screen dumps of your bias setting. Whenever I take mine out of auto I have problems booting in to W7.

Gigabyte UD6 with F11 FW.

I believe I put everything on auto except for the Vcore and the QPI voltage. My final voltages were 1.36875v for vcore and 1.35v for qpi voltage

if I decrease either one any further, my system becomes unstable.

I've noticed that for my cpu, if i wanted to get 3.6 and above, i would have to add a crap load of vcore.

I don't know how to do screen dumps of the bias setting or the bios settings. I'll take pictures when I have time, but if you got an easier way to do it, please let me know :thumb:
 
860 are pretty hard to get at 4.0Ghz with decent setting. ifitès stable like that, run 20 pass of linx using the all button ( donèt forget to click it ) if it crash then no luck, if you pass you are stable.
 
Changing to 2T puts less stress on your IMC (Integrated Memory Controller).....easier to OC at RAMS rated speed....most Dominator Memory are in fact 2T, but 1T provides for better performance, so everyone tries to get stable at 1T.

Cool thanks I'll have to look into that!

i'll keep you posted when i do get around to OCing a little more= )
