I'm currently using a Corsair AX 1000 PSU but just got myself a 5090. I'm wondering if I should look at upgrading what the current recommendations might be? I dont mind spending some decent money but I'm seeing some of theses PSUs going $600-$1000 seems nuts. So im trying to see whats good out there. Typically ive looked at seasonics in the past.

Seasonic TX-1300 ATX 3.0(Titanium) is the highest rated. Leadex VII XP 1200W (Platinum) is very close in performance and a lot cheaper. Then there is also the FSP Mega TI 1350w (Titanium) which scores very similarly.

Those are my picks.

I ended up grabbing a Seasonic PX-1600. It was the easiest one of these I could find I could easily order. I also couldn't justify $200 more for the TX over PX. HWBusters seemed to like the PX more than the TX since the TX has to make some small concessions to achieve the Titanium rating. Though apparently the TX is about 10db quieter. Though I imagine 5090 might drown out the PSU anyways.

Random side note it won't do 1600W on 110V, thats only for when plugged into 220V. Limit on 110V is going to be 1200-1300 range don't recall exact number for that unit without searching for it.

Edit: Also the best main stream 15A UPS units cannot feed a computer drawing >1100W from the wall without going into an overload state. Heavily overclocked FX-83__ something and two unlocked/overclocked 6990s can attest to seriously overloading a few 15A UPSs to the point I considered running a 20A line and a 20A UPS.

I was wondering how it would be rated for 1600 on a 15a circuit. I'm finishing up my basement right now. So I might see if I can get a 220v plug for my desktop wired in. Already got the wire. l already put in 20A plugs since these will be sharing some wiring with my home theather.

Thanks for the heads up.

You need 20a. Some people use modified cords but if they ever exceed the circuits ability it will blow the breaker.

I perosnally prefer the a++ noise rating. I dont like noise in my pc.
