Nvidia driver causing black screen

Nvidia driver branch 572, first for 5000 series, is causing black screen in 3000, 4000, and 5000 series card. So stay off this branch for now until Nvidia post an update. This may not be the same as the PCI-E 5.0 spec related black screen issue since both 3000, and 4000 cards are impacted.

Looks like Nvidia is releasing both BIOS and driver to address the black screen issue.

On pre-5000 series, I believe it's 566.36. If you are on 5000 series, not sure if it's safe to go with the latest driver since I don't have any research.
 

As long as your not using fan control on Afterburner or FanControl or the like then you should be fine . The hot fix is not updated on the GeForce driver listing yet. :)
 
on my 4090FE 566.36 has been a night/day difference ARK: Ascended was 100% crash to desktop every time. gutted the current driver with DDU have had any issues i can even use msi after burner to set the fan curve. no black screens no issues with FF16 shatting on rug when compiling shaders.
