I just placed my PRE-order for a eVGA GTX470 Superclocked (NCIX).
I assume a lot of people would settle for a "vanilla" GTX470 then OC to superclocked, but there might be a few more chances to get one higher priced quicker (or so is my reasoning).
I'm done with the review reading. Settled for Team green again. I realise that eVGA might have a longer "lineup" for pre-order, but I already own 2 eVGAs and have always been satisfied. Make me feel better lolz.
I'm quoting myself LOLZ:
funky:Well, change of plans...I canceled my GTX470 Superclocked pre-order. NCIX had a few XFX HD5870 that came in...and they got sold within 48 hours. I managed to get one of these, and the card is on it's way.
Because of good Friday, I might have to wait until Monday to receive the card.
$424 PMed for a XFX HD 5870(HD-587A-ZNF9). It's close to GTX480 performance for less. I'll try to OC this thing to get even with GTX480 in MOST situation. That way, I think that for a $100 less than GTX480 (and the whole power/heat situation) it's a decent deal. Again time will tell.
Never used the CUDA features of my GTX260, I don't fold.
I play Bad Company 2, AvP, so the 5870 has a good showing there...
Anyway, time will tell if I made a good deal. I already have a buyer for my eVGA GTX260 CORE 216 SC.
