NVIDIA GTX 780 Ti Review Comment Thread

They have been available at Newegg since the day after launch....dont know whats up with NCIX. My 2 Cards are with Purolators and are in Vancouver, should be in my hands by Friday.
I remember when the 580's launched there were long waits........

Although we shop Newegg.ca, the Cards are still shipped from Brea, California....on my Tracking they left LAX this morning and are now at the Sort Facility in Vancouver.

Ipaine....have you been doing ant surfing over at Evga Forum...there is an epic thread re: the noise associated with the ACX cooler.....some unhappy campers.

See they have Stock at NCIX now....and also jacked up the price again....

Yeah I don't get NCIX lately. Overpriced and don't have stock from day one like they used to. My god a MSI R9 290 for $497.98? I used to buy most of my stuff there, but their prices just don't appeal to me anymore.
It wasn't long ago when Newegg came to Canada that everyone just brushed them off since they were no where competitive with NCIX. Yet here I am purchasing two R9 290's at a better price and they were in stock day one.

^^^ The only reason I like NCIX is being on Van Isle...if I order from them Mon I get it Tuesday (provided its in Stock)....seems I'm always price matching to Newegg though ;)

EDIT: So ordered the 780Ti's with 3 Game bundle last Sunday....from the Egg...Tuesday recieved the coupons with Codes for the 3 games...today (Thursday) recieved my GPU's....pretty bloody quick considering Monday was a Holiday!!

Swapping my 3 680 Classy's for my 2 780Ti SC Cards tonight ;)....installed vanilla 780 Backplates on them.....waiting on my Evga LED SLi Bridge...ordered the last one from MemEx.....got to keep up to Slik......its challenging though :0

I would like to ask: If I am running 2560X1600 and already own one 780 should I buy another 780 for SLI or stick with a single card solution and get a 780Ti? I need more power but I really do not want my game play experience to suffer because of potential multi card issues.

^^^^ Get a 2nd 780.....I havent run a single Card solution in yrs...dont know what you mean by potential multi card issues........oh yeah...that stuff I've read on the Net ;)

Honestly...get a 2nd 780 and watch your games "scream"....with your 1600p Res...once you go SLi....a single Card will never seem adequate

These days it typically means that new releases sometimes do not take advantage of multiple cards. My experience with SLI was completely different than yours was... I was only interested in playing one game when I sli'd my 560ti cards and that particular game not only did not support sli, it actually gave me lower framerates with sli enabled. Based on that, the only reason I'd go SLI would be (and this might be the case shortly) if I could pick up a second hand card for relatively cheap that would match my current one.

Had one issue with a game not having supported SLi, I created an SLi Profile for
it (using Inspector or one if the nv software Programs).

Not sure what Res you play on, but guaranteed at 1600p you'll be able to crank up all (or most) if
the settings in any DX11 Title without issue ( although some features will even kill an SLI System.

Anyhow, personally I'd jump on one of those 780 Cards with both reduced price n 3 free game deal ;)

I read that there are potential issues with SLI when the CPU becomes the bottleneck. Apparently so long as the GPU is the bottleneck then Nvidia's frame metering works as intended and frame latency in SLI is ok. However, as soon as the cpu is the bottleneck frame latency becomes an ever increasing issue with SLI. Currently I am running a 3770k at 4.8Ghz. I personally do not know how much or how little headroom my cpu will have when running 780SLI. Also.. if Maxwell were to be right around the corner [Q2?] I may decide to stick it out with my one 780. IMO there is no reason for Nvidia to even think about releasing Maxwell until early 2014. They sure have milked us/me with Kepler. First I had a 670 then a 680L and now a 780. lol I scare myself

FWIW I would be buying a used 780 from a HWC'er.

You're CPU is fine, personally I feel you're reading wayyyy too much into it.....but if course I'm biased ;) Um sure you'll make the call that makes you feel best and really that's all that matters in the end !!
