Rants etc.....

I HATE the snow removal people in this city. They just the huge mounts of packed/crushed snow in front of your driveway and leave. Now its going to take me 30 minutes just to get out of my driveway. The road wasn't even bad. Just a waste of money and my time. :angry2::angry2::angry2:

Brother (DCP-L2540DW) Monochrome All-in-One Wireless Duplex Laser Printer | Staples®

Doesn't get much more convenient than a sale starting on the day after I start looking at replacement printers.... not gonna argue with a $100 replacement that includes an ADF with built-in manual 2 sided scanning and/or what looks to be scanning multiple pages to one.

It's louder while printing than the samsung was though.

edit: On the rant side of things.... c'mon folks!!!! If your product connects to a PC via cable(s) then include at least one of those types of cables in the box. I suppose Brother can be excused on this printer since it could connect wirelessly if I wanted it to, but it's still kinda irksome to find neither a USB nor a network cable included in the box.

Yeah, but you'll never go back.

I went through 3 samsung printers in 4 years. I've had my brother printer for 6 years now, and its still going strong on its 4th high yield toner. Workhorses man, workhorses.

Agreed. My brother has been fantastic. And pleasantly free of bloatware, unlike an HP......:angry2:

So.... just a quick followup on the brother listed in the first post.....

Pretty happy with it so far. Printing is decent, but the functionality of the on-printer scanning menu is what stands out most.

Menu is intuitive and allows for easily scanning multiple documents to be treated as one "job" thus making it easy to turn single sided documents into double sided and allowing for multiple pages to be scanned into a single PDF document.

Another Canada Post rant... Absolute worst courier ever.

Bought an SSD from the US, was shipped priority. Cleared customs on Monday, 2016/12/19 20:00 RICHMOND, BC Item processed. Yesterday when I checked tracking it was due to arrive today. Todays update 2016/12/22 08:34 RICHMOND, BC Item processed. So 3 days later it is scanned in the same place. Now the expected delivery date is next friday, the 30th!

I shoveled the sidewalk clean in front of my house today and the town came by with their big tonka truck sidewalk snowblower and laid down a 2" thick layer of slush. I'm really getting anxious when they come around. Our streets are also over 1' more narrow on each side of the road because they can't seem to clean the roads properly at all anymore?

Oh yeah, thanks for all the salt.......

Hrmmmmm..... I wonder......

I've already got the electronic display/odometer listed as "also bought". What I'd be missing is the heartrate sensor, and the extra push of fixed programs.

sorry about digging this back up- but I use one of these models https://www.amazon.com/Kinetic-Kurt...sr=8-15&keywords=bike+stand+for+indoor+riding +videos on tv (could use an iDevice...) the normal trainer videos I like (feel free to read like with some sarcasm) are from https://thesufferfest.com/ those guys.

Tried using the Staples buy it online and pick up in store for a set of headphones for my son for Christmas. They said 2 in stock. I'm in Lindsay, hard to believe that even this time of year there is a run on the store. Anyways, made the mistake (just learned this) of using our Visa Debit card to pay as they charged it right away and when they cancelled the payment our bank put the money on hold for up to 30 days to investigate why the transaction was cancelled.

Sigh.........

Somebody.... wasn't paying close enough attention when backing into our driveway last night, and discovered just how fragile the plastic of rear bumpers are @ sub-zero temps when they come in contact with hard packed snow banks...... :(

Hopefully the local wrecking yard will have a black bumper for a 2011 chevy impala at a reasonable price.......
