Rants etc.....

tired of my large cell phones I only use my cells to talk and text occasional pictures which honestly I hate how the AI in this new cell "fixes" the picture it makes it look fake. so now I have been searching for a smaller cell and It's hard to find any that aren't 1kg in weight and I can barely fit in my pocket lol I look at reviews and every one speaks of performance I dont think I need that as long as its android so I can use a couple aps, and it doesn't lose signals and can take the odd picture decent ,t I never surf using my cell or used 98% of anything else on my oneplus. ok end of my ranting time to get reading for work

Finally tried Smart tube...
Interface is meh, polish is meh.

But the important part: there seems to be no controls at all for touchscreen devices. So very heavily aimed at android TV users with some sort of external remote control? Open a context menu like the video one to select video quality & resolution... and just cant back out of it.
I know I know, MOST devices have a software "back" button, but my Lenovo P11 pro doesnt. Never been a problem with any other app.

Suspicious: tiling out all my currently open apps immediately shows that smart tube is opening multiple instances of itself. Like 5-6 smart tubes opened? Really dont like or trust that, see no reason for it, and Id imagine its something that's difficult for android-based TV users to verify, making me more sus about it.

Won't be using it. Already uninstalled. A browser plug-in is SO much easier to use and safer than this unusual app.

if you're talking about the 3 button controls, you can enable them in settings. I pinged Copilot and it confirmed the P11 and it's variants have them available if you want them.

Ive been using smart tube on my android tv and its been nice. I will agree the UI is very meh.

But for phones, yeah that would not be a fun interface. Id suggest revanced manager. It recompiles the standard YT APK with patches for things like Sponsorblock, ad blocking, return dislikes and such. Been using that one my phone for a good while now without issues.

More of a sigh really then a real rant. But they did actually take a chunk out of the front lawn when the front end loader had cleared snow from the cul-de-sac.
