Rants etc.....

I wonder if that is something you can get some type of reimbursement for? 🤔

I had a couple pictures of tire marks in the snow like 2 feet up into the yard past the curb when they originally cleared it a couple months ago so I was actually expecting worse.

I would honestly probably spend more time on hold trying to get them to fix the area he damaged than just dealing with it myself. Already have dirt and seed on hand anyways. Just with everything finally melted the chunk he took out near the curb is just kind of obvious.

Just glad I don't have in ground irrigation or something to damage.

normally you property line/s are 2-3 feet back from the sidewalk/curb, so I wouldnt be surprised if it's well onto city property, not yours.( still looks like crap and still your problem, if bothered by it). It happens to me a lot as we have a large corner lot, but all the property that gets damaged isn't mine. If it turns out that it is your land, you can get them to fix it, which won't happen fast, normally.

You are right, you will spend loads of time or wait forever for them to bother fixing it, unless you know someone at the city. It does suck cause it a real pain to fix up for me every year, good luck.

I have about 8-10sqft off the corner of my sidewalk that is all smashed up and the same thing will happen next winter.

this is no doubt Earth taking corrective action to counter the global warming your PC and homelab are aiding and abetting. 😂
On a serious note the panels cover electrical consumption still in my favour there.

But waste heat I had an idea. I have enough spare liquid cooling parts I was considering rigging up a radiator on the server rack exhaust to take the heat and shove it into a different enclosure where I'd store my filament. Basically creating a heated enclosure from waste heat.

Bah..... we're resigned to the fact that we're going to be losing our Canada Post home delivery, but were hoping it would be a few years. Didn't need to see our community first on the list CP released today. :(

The community mailbox system sucks. They don't even try most of the time and just shove a delivery attempt slip in the box unless it is just slightly bigger than an envelope. Most of the time they won't even use the parcel box. One time they even gave me a broken key for the parcel box so had to jump through hoops just to get my parcel and they left it broken for almost a month afterwards.

I mean i get it from a company hemorrhaging money they need to cut down on costs. But it sure cuts down on quality of service.

Maybe I wrongly assumed packages would still come to the door? Usually my guy today walks the neighbourhood with the letter mail. Then he comes back around in the van with parcels. So once CP stops "home delivery", that includes parcels too? Seems like a really poor business model...
