Rants etc.....

Get a surgeon to do it. Burn the beds. Its really the only way to effectively treat it that I've found.

Unless that is what you are doing and its not working. in which case that would really suck,

lol this is the 6th time they burned the beds (roots ) next time i go to have them surgically cut out all the way back to the beginning of my toes :)

My rant for the day is not a fault of my truck, my trailer, or even my car. It is about ME not having wired up the four LED lamps I bought for the trailer(last Oct!) as reverse/work lights.
Backing up my trailer at home during night is bad enough in my Saturn SW2 with it's lights reflecting off the trailer and making things beside&behind hard to see.(and mirrors impossible to use) At least the car is small and you can see the trailer along the gravel driveway with your head poked out the window. :P

You would think the Dodge W150 would be better for this because you can only see the tips of the trailer's ramps, resulting in less light blasting your eyes..... But you can see less of the trailer and the mirrors are small. Good for off-road, not so much for backing up. When you toss in rain and palm-steering a slick worn steering wheel it gets exciting. Though I am not blaming the rain or steering wheel, they are just a bit annoying like the branches along the driveway I need to trim.(also my fault)

I am installing at least two of these lights tomorrow.
64H01-5 - Grote Select™ LED Flood Lamp - Grote Industries
Is 600 lumens each going to be enough? I feel like more could be done here....

Proper lighting should completely fix my backing-trailer-at-night woes. I keep procrastinating and it needs to stop, these lights will not fix the procrastination.

Not exactly the best time of the year for our dehumidifier to go on the fritz, but I suppose we've got 6+ years out of it so we can't complain. Keeps shutting down once there's more than a thimbleful worth of water in the bucket and there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the float or the microswitch (the microswitch is IMO the most likely culprit). Gave the bucket + Float a good cleaning to ensure it's not binding or sticking, but it's still shutting down after a short period of running time which leads me to believe that something in the shut down CCT might be overheating.

Not worth tearing it apart though as I doubt it would be anything visible.

It's not giving any kind of error indication though. It's shutting down and giving the "bucket full" indication along with associated audible warnings. If I take the bucket out and reseat it I still get the "bucket full" indication but if I take the bucket out and empty the thimbleful of water from it (and I'm not kidding... it's about a quarter of a cup of water at best) it will then start up immediately as if I'd emptied out a full bucket but only runs for a short period of time. It's behaving as if there's an extension to the float which extends to the very bottom of the bucket. If I had to guess, it'd be that there's a secondary "bucket full" sensor besides the float at the top of the bucket and that the bucket is leaking onto it giving the impression that water is flowing out from the top of the bucket. (Sounds like a pretty complicated backup for a relatively cheap consumer appliance though).

I've already picked up a replacement so I suspect this will be going out to the curb next big garbage day.

Some freaking hot!!!!!! Calling for humidex of 39+ here in Moncton.

We've got a portable air conditioner and normally only use it in our bedroom overnight (not really portable because our windows are crank/swing style thus the intake/exhaust is special built for the window).... last couple of days I've got it running 24/7 with a fan in the hall attempting to blow some of the cold air down towards the living room..... ;)

If I wasn't already switching to Bell at the end of the month I'd probably be doing so now.... third robocall from them WRT the router UPNP security exploit... I've got the latest firmware, UPNP is turned off, and have tested using GRC which reports back that it's not seeing any vulnerabilities. I even went so far today as to run the GRC test on every PC in the home on the off chance that there was a nasty hiding on one of them which was effectively doing the same thing outside of the router. Nothing....

Called them today hoping to be able to resolve the issue (more for them than for me since I'm moving on at the end of the month), but they don't have the capability from their end to test for this real time??? Their only solution would be for me to get rid of my current router in spite of the negative responses to testing from my end.

I wasn't moving on with any kinds of bad feelings (more related to the state of rogers' current infrastructure down here), but their lack of ability to troubleshoot what appears to be a false positive real time has got me kinda irked.
