Rants etc.....

The city has been installing those flexible road markers (see photo below) all over the city. They installed one (as a divider between what they consider the "in and "out" lanes) in the parking lot where I park the car last week... I'm forgot its there (and the reflector isn't.. well it doesn;t work) and when I went tp park 2 nights ago.... I ran it over and scratched the side of my car and who knows what it did to the underside of the car.

sort of a rant. the other night I was working on the Floor doing security at the Coldplay Concert in Vancouver which was great concert one of the few I have worked that had little eviction and those evictions were cause from people that were so excited that they drank to much and ended up getting sick. Anyway I found nothing about the concert at any of the news web sites. now if something negative happened like at the U2 concert I worked at where Ticket Master messed up it gets talked about of weeks. the media only likes to Push the Negative things that happen that really bothers me how they do that which seems to me Bad news sells why are we so Dam negative

A U2 concert is a lot bigger news to begin with though I think. Coldplay's still a big band, but they've kind of passed their peak IMO and aren't anywhere near U2 in popularity or media coverage.

Doesn't meant that negative coverage isn't more common, but it's not quite a black/white situation. I know if the Edmonton Journal when a big band comes they seem to have a lot of coverage if it went well (there was a ton of positive Garth Brooks coverage, with the only real negatives being about the bathroom situation at Rogers IIRC).

Well, its not really newsworthy though "Concert goes off with out a hitch - exactly like what paying fans expected" shrug. What makes the news typically (outside of politics and such) is out of the ordinary stuff, be it the cutesy stuff on slow news days, or negative stuff. Has little to do with "bad news sells", as much as a concert going well without problems is whats *EXPECTED*. Frankly, if it was newsworthy that a concert went well, it would mean somethings really messed up.

That said I totally get and understand the feeling, people rarely get recognized for doing a good job, they only get reprimanded when something wrong happens. It's like the old phrase goes, when things are good: "everything is going well, why are we paying you!", when things are bad "everything gone to hell, why are we paying you!". It totally sucks, people should be recognized somehow for a good job done more often.

Cold play was a Sold out show I think the crowd was the same or even larger then U2

Understood, but a concert going well/properly isn't news, its whats expected. The whole support team should be commended for pulling off a flawless concert, I agree, but it still isn't news.THAT SAID, I think what your looking for is reviews of the concert, rather than news of the concert, of which there will be many in various entertainment sections of various news media.

Live review: Coldplay brings ‘Head Full of Dreams’ to BC Place Friday | Vancouver Sun

etc

The U.K. quartet added Vancouver to that list on Friday night with a performance at B.C. Place that was easily the top arena show of the year.
All the major shows in B.C. Place this season seemed pretty fine sound-wise. But Coldplay blew U2, Guns N Roses and Metallica away in clarity.
British rock band Coldplay finally returned to the Vancouver after five long years for their A Head Full of Dreams Tour, and it was completely worth the wait.

Grr Starting to get very annoyed with my Internet disconnections my ISP contracts from Telus and Shaw I have unlimited bandwidth and not really High speed internet ( last check was 36Mbps down and 5 Mbps up) been getting bad disconnect especially on week ends and early week had called my ISP they send out a shaw tech ( who usually doesn't show up until 2 weeks after the problem) they hook up don't see any problems but change the ends on the cables replace the splitter that has a resistor build in and thats about it this usually is the mid week . my set up is ok for a few days then repeat. of course part of me is taking this personal thinking that since shaw is contracting this to the other company they are purposely causing the problem so that people leave and go to Shaw directly lol. I have checked with other people in the building using Telus and Shaw and none of them seem to be having the same issues, this is an old building so it could be the cable itself but why just my cable. IK am on the edge and really thinking of switching but the price I pay is cheap 45 month and I do a fair amount of downloading .

with the winter months coming I will be spending more time on my PC so I am wanting a solid connection .

Looks like the cops in Edmonton are trying their very best not to charge the Somali attacker with terrorism. Big surprise.

funny thing is it was an act of terrorism anything in my eyes that causes panic and terror is terrorism . I am not sure if Canada and the US have the same Law for Terrorism people forget that Canada is not the US so Canadian laws are different then US laws.
I really hate it when the Mdia ( Global BC) has Music playing in the back ground to add in more effect for things like the Shooting in Vegas I don't think that people need Mood music for horrible acts like that iut isn't a FN tv movie why add in Music FFS
