Wow. What a wild ride this week has been. Just when things were going good.

Finished my shift at work.

Get home.

10 minutes later HR calls me.

Tells me I'm terminated without cause effective immediately.

I ask why.

She says they don't need to provide me with a reason. They'll pay severance.

Nice.

4 days after I bought that stupid car.

lol @ my life.

Don't worry about me though guys. I have enough to pay my bills for a year and I already applied for EI.

Any ideas for a brand new career for a 48 year old? lol.

wait your in canada you been there longer then 90 days what the fk kinda bs is that? thought law states after the 3 month probation period Employers couldn't just say F off dont come in, and i dont have to tell you why,

If it is without cause or if you suspect questionable causes like he is describing and what my wife went through you can fight for more than minimum severance. Due to legal gag orders I can't really elaborate more than that with my experience.

There are levels of severance to being terminated without cause based on tenure. They met the criteria.
 
When it rains it pours.

So two nights ago I ordered a gpu from Best Buy. It was shipped with T-Force. Tracking shows it was delivered at 7:45pm last night.

Can you guess what?

No GPU at my door. No knock. No signature. Nothing.

Now, I don't know why these shippers keep leaving expensive things on my doorstep when I'm right beside a busy bus stop.

Filing a claim right now.
