Okay, so I'm RMA'ing my Corsair H60 to Corsair because the radiator had damage. I contacted Corsair and they were kind enough to send me a prepaid waybill with UPS so I didn't have to pay to ship it to them. I called UPS the following day and scheduled a pickup, and asked the customer service person I was speaking with if there were any forms or anything I would need to fill out since it was going to the US, and she told me there wasn't. The next day when the driver arrived to pick it up, I asked him the same question, he looked at my waybill and I told him I was returning it and he also said there wasn't.

So thinking everything was in order I didn't worry about it too much until I received a call from UPS yesterday telling me I need to fill out a bunch of paperwork for US customs detailing the item so duty, tariffs and all that other crap can be figured out. I've already purchased the unit (From NCIX), so duty, tariffs and that stuff shouldn't be applicable should it not? I'm just returning it to get it exchanged with a working unit.

I realize I'll probably have to call UPS on Monday to get the proper answer but can anyone with experience RMA'ing stuff to the US possibly shed some light on this issue for me here. Thanks!

In all honestly, I wasn't aware what of what their RMA shipping policy was, so I just asked them if I had to pay to ship it to them, or if they'd pay for my shipping, and the lady just told me to send an e-mail with my request for free shipping to rmaservice@corsair.com. About 24 hours later I got an e-mail with my pre-paid shipping waybill.

you can find printable pdf forms on the ups website, just fill them to your best knowledge,
0 commercial value (rma in big bold letters)

The fact is if it is a prepaid shipping label then UPS should not even be asking you to fill out anything else. Chances are the label you put on it already details that it is an RMA.

The last thing I shipped to the states, which was to Corsair, was my ssd and it shipped through express post. The only thing that I put on my package was rma return and value. But due to it being a return US customs basically just let it through. That label you put on should already state RMA on it somewhere and they should not need anything else.

Yeah, it clearly states in two different spots on the waybill that it is an RMA. So if I call UPS and explain that it's an RMA it should get through without me having to do all this US paperwork crap?

Not really. Most countries require the shipper to declare (and sign) the item when shipping into their country. All the RAM and HDD that I ever sent back, I always put "warranty service" or "return for repair" in the item description box. I also put down the approximate replacement value on the forum just in case it's lost during transit.

hmm,you guys ever rma a hard drive, say a western digital?

theres a bit of a form to fill in and print, just for the customs.

theres always a form. for official business anyway.

canada post/usps you may get away with a sticker or such.
