Videocardz posted an article on NorthridgeFix's attempt to repair 2 RTX 5090FE. TL;DR version is that since the FE use ribbon cable and connectors like those on mobile phones and laptops, it's very easy to damage the connection. They can't even find repair parts so one of the card is effectively unrepairable. Double checking Techpowerup's article, it looks like it's extremely hard for the average user to even re-paste the card. NorthridgeFix's advise is to just buy the AIB partner cards especially if you plan on watercooling. I included the MSI Suprim version for comparison.

MSI card's PCI-E connection, it's a traditional design

MSI is always way taller than others fyi.

But we knew from launch that the FE would be difficult to block or repaste. Thats why watercool didnt make a block for them at all.

I doubt you can hand make those items so you either have to contract a factory in China to make you the components or find out who made them and place an order with them. Assuming they would even entertain that idea.

Put the most fragile parts in as many places as possible to force them to break easily. First the abomination of a connector and now cherry on top everything running through twigs trying like Atlas but failing.

I'm not starting a new thread since it's just a different card. This time it's a Blackwell Pro 6000 with a slapped connector due to improper transport. Again, no parts available from Nvidia for repair.
