Might as well throw this in here as well..... :)

I'm new to the ultra-wide format, how do you folks manage your windows? I had been generally opening my browser full screen (with the associated blank spaces on all websites these days) but am thinking that having it open in the center of the screen with the default website width at the edges is probably the way to go.
Fences / regions etc (they go by a lot of names). Even non-ultrawide just 43in regular aspect it is useful with what I do. Some variants allow for a center column by default.

Edit:
Mac wont do center column by default but windows 11 atleast does. For example dragging ms paint to the top center results in the extra options.

I tried again just in case W11 24H2 changed it, but it still goes back to the previous size as soon as you drag the window. I suppose you can carefully re-size the window to match after "snapping" it without touching the edges of the screen and causing it to snap again.

But in my case, I ran Sizer once long ago to "fix" the window size of Chrome. Only gets messed up if I forget to close Chrome before updating NVIDIA drivers :)

Display Fusion FTW when it comes to setting specific boundries.

Display Fusion split screen.jpg

That's got a center width just a bit over FHD which seems to be standard website max width, and any window that's maximized will fill the pane that it's in, but windows can still be stretched larger outside of those areas. Quick check and full screen games open full screen without having to change the profile.

Seems to solve the issue of windows window location return function for "stretched" windows (resized up or down so that they fill the full height) not populating at full height when re-opened.

I'm a huge fan of Display Fusion when custom fences are required. That said, I run a triple monitor setup. My ultrawide is the primary monitos and Firefox mostly runs snapped to the right side and I work on the left side. Email, Teams and communication in general runs on the second monitor, (moving Teams video to the main for meetings) and I consume media from a third or use it for a variety of 'overflow' apps if needed.

So.... slight change to how I'm doing this.....

I still have both the above profile and a second "normal" one in DisplayFusion, but rather than sticking with the display fusion one 24/7 I've expanded windows I want centered while in the split profile but then switch back to the normal for 24/7 and have the apps I've opened full screen into the center panel open to that same size/position while in the normal setup.

Best of both worlds.
