1 Big question for the review. Does it ( like all seagate drive ) Scratch when you acces it! I seriously can't stand the noise of their drive and if this one still do the same I will definatly NOT buy it. Nice review dude keep on good work ;)

Thanks MM, I appreciate it.

I find the sound of Seagates to be more of a "tick" than a chirp like the older models had and TBH find the newer Seagate's to very quiet, and about as quiet as WD's (though it is a different frequency sound). With that being said, I find Seagate's to be VERY sensitive to PSU ripple. I know on ripple that is within spec but close to the max they make their dissatisfaction well known! On my various Seasonic made PSU's this beast was pretty mild mannered for a high performance drive.

MM, if you find the latest gen 2TB XT to be annoying than you probably will find the same with the 3TB as it may be slightly more mild mannered it still has - to my ears - the same pitch to its chirp.

hey ak, can you jot down a few more words about this : "I find Seagate's to be VERY sensitive to PSU ripple." ? :)

Last seagate drive I used was a 1TB 7200.12 and I dropped them because of the annoying scratching noise that I can't stand anymore. I'll try to get my hand on one of those at ym old job to see if it meet my noise standard :P Thx for reply dude!
