I just wish I could get a CAT phone or a Razor or an Asus ROG phone etc etc... Rogers selection is terrible
so, anyone gonna wait with their next smartphone and voice / data purchase to see what Freedom Mobile offers?

I just buy my phones outright, since I have a pretty good deal with Fido. Currently 32GB for $55/month. Telus has offered similar but don't feel like moving
It likely means i'll loose my discount for my shaw home internet. Not happy with the whole idea of this merger still.

here i wish we had options but we aint big enough to count lol, cell phone plan for me and wifey sharing 50gb is $265 a month. internet is $289 but i had to buy my own modem as i was not being saddled with that pulse tv gateway garbage Modem/Router Combo. and out speeds are at max 500mb down 15-20mb up.

I am waiting, with trepidation, to see what Rogers does to my 0 dollar Shaw Mobile plans. I have 4 of them, all due to keeping the higher Fibre Internet plans. That was my main draw to stay with Shaw, the combined service of internet and cell phones was cheaper for me. Now, I have no idea what Rogers will do.

yesterday I was looking online at telus and they have that bring your old phone upgrade thing, but they didnt show anything about just buying the cell phone instead of monthly, so I went to the local cell phone place, I think its a telus koodo ,.
Anyway I was in there and a truck driver is sitting there while the person is doing something for him ( the store clerk sayus a minute which I know isnt a minute its just a normal thing that pops out of many habit sales people, so I decided to go do some grocery shopping its next door.
I get back 15 minuts later the the truck driver is still there and he starts talking about how another place wanted him to pay 180 for a used phone but this guy is going to get him a new phone for cheaper plus a better plans for him and his neice that he helps out which is cheaper.
I am sitting there watching the store clerk on the computer then he starts to grab some things of f the shelf dinging them in, I can see the truck driver is getting impatient and asks how long , the store guys says I am almst finished with a big smile, I can tell this guiy must be paid by comission so now I am currious and wait ,20 minutes later and a few conversations plus a few signature they store person says on its 386.00cad the truck drivers now is a little upset because he went int there to just get his older phone fixed or replaced plus he is on down time which means losing money, now they want him to pay 386 cad, the store guy is still all smiles and saying oh you get that money back as credit the truck driver is now pissed and saying yes credit on my account and not moeny in my pocket now he wants his phone back and everything the way it was , the store guys now is still smiling with that total fake smile and still not listening and still trying to make the sale. the truck driver then apologizes to me for the wait I just grinned and said hes a typical sales person and walked out . knowing that things are going to escalate a little but today is my day off and I am not going to works as a security guard also I could read tha tat m,ost the escalation will be words now violence ok maybe violent words but not physical
I went in there to see if they would take my old phone trade it is and I was going to grab the pixel 6 and pay for it outright and well I never did find out if I could do that.
and back to the reply I am the same I rather just pay for the phone outright then to be dinged every month for two years and in my case I could probably buy the pixel 6 for slightly cheaper on amazon but I alreaduy have a few phones sitting aroubd collecting dust and both are heavy phone amoured phones tha tcan take pic underwater (appareantly) I never tried not to many people want them
Most probably Quebecor wants territory and market in the west and will keep it low cost by not offering 5G (Fizz doesn't have 5G). Most probably the Customer Service dept will be externalized, like for Fizz (which is in Romania and is only chat-based). I don't hold my breath on pricing, I am a Videotron employee, we get subsidized plans for family and friends, and I pay a ridiculously low amount for cable Internet.
