Here is my current system setup. Ambient internal temps on both sensors are 23C (which happens to be the room temp as well).

Running @ 3.6 day to day. My 3dmark06 score is below as well

Lapped my TRUE with excellent results, max cpu load under orthos 52C on any core.

First, the can't use the GT for TRI-SLI only gtx and ultra (you need two connectors). I have my GT's for sale here with the plan to buy 3 gtx for tri-sli (although its funny because I had 2 gtx last year and sold them and 2 GT in sli are actually faster than 2 gtx)

Second, the antec spotcool is in place of the stock cooler on the EVGA 780i NB. The stock cooler sounded like a little jet engine and did not provide great cooling. The antec spotcool cost me $12 and my MCP temps never exceed 54C even under full load overclocked. Also it has a 3 speed fan and at medium is much quieter than stock.

oh wow- I just assumed that the GT would have two connectors since it's so much newer- strange that there aren't more cards with two- it's not like NVidia just came up with the tri SLI idea in the last couple of months. I guess it adds to the price of the card.

Its not a manufacturing cost issue. It allows nvidia to properly segment their cards and also ensures (at least they hope) that the 8800GTX and 8800 Ultra existing stock will sell for Tri-SLI.

Why would anyone buy a gtx or ultra now? The GT and the new 512 MB GTS actually beat the much more expensive cards in almost every test (I know personally as I have had both).

Believe me if I could get 3 8800Gt running in Tri-SLI I would be one happy camper.

littlratt at OCN has 3 gtx in SLI with a quad running at 4ghz. His 3dmark06 score is around 23k... I get 19k at 3.6ghz. Even pushing my cpu up would not scale that much.

also newer drivers will improve its performance just like it did when sli was released.

I'm just wondering why you need all this power yet you only have a 22" screen? Shouldn't you look into 24" or 30" to actually make all the power useful?
