I talked to Chris last summer shortly before he left when he was managing the Coquitlam store.
Yup, I remember! I actually enjoyed being out in the stores from day one (worked 6 days for the first 3 years I was there) and meeting everyone from the forums and at the warehouse sales too. Also, it was nice to get out of the office permanently after being there for so long. I remember each and every one of you!

He was their trouble-shooter and they sent him around various departments and locations to get them straightened out. He got out just before the downfall began.
NCIX was and is full of great people in all departments and it sort of had a high school feeling to it being there for all those years. As much as we all probably hated high school, it was the one (and last) place where you would meet most of the people in the world you cared about on a almost daily basis. That's was definitely the scariest thing for me moving on. My second high school would be over, my place of comfort forever gone.
And you're dead on about the timing of my departure. However, I had no advanced knowledge that anything bad like this was going to happen. But if I was to say that I was surprised, then I would be lying.
Poor choices over my almost 8 years there with who the new "number 2" was similar to watching Groundhog Day on repeat.
Credit problems- this was what truly killed me and was the straw that broke the camels back. I had meetings with the top gun about this a few times. I sent very detailed reports outlining what this is doing to our customers, our vendors, our suppliers, our PM's (who of course can't buy anything, so they can't make bonuses) I got yelled at for it. On the flip side of that coin, PM's complained to me about not ever being able to get bonuses due to said issues. I got yelled at for it and someone else from the company responded back to my report and basically said " Hey Chris we're doing everything we can, the market blah blah" I wanted to quit right then. But I stuck it out for the greater good, my friends working there and so high school didn't end again.
Ever been at a big meeting, and your CEO proclaims the stupidest thing ever and then asks everyone around the table if it's feasible and they all say yes even though it's NOT? Yeah, that happened. How's that one billion dollars in 5 year plan looking now? Oh right, all the stores closed now. Good job.
It was "OK" to get complaints about issues caused from not paying the bills, but if anyone ever gave even remotely bad service or posted something on Facebook- best to hide. If Reselleratings wasn't over 9.75 at all times, even though complaints were coming from not paying bills, then I was considered a failure. I can't even remotely understand why this would make sense to the owner of a company trying to be successful. He must be intelligent to be running a company this size and doing well (several years ago), right? Then how the hell can you be so blindly stupid for so long?
Harassment- I am not even going to go there. So many levels, in so many different ways. NOTHING remotely Harvey or Spacey worthy, however it existed nonetheless. I couldn't be more opposite, and once I caught wind, intervened a few times to make sure it never happened again and it didn't.

Conspiracy theorists unite!
To be honest, since leaving this is the most I have said anything anywhere publicly. I never said a bad word about NCIX or the CEO on glassdoor, Facebook, RFD or Linus's, I honestly hoped they got their crap together and came back around.
Then I left... and so many followed suit (thank God, I hope you are happy my friends if you are reading this). I would like to think by my leaving and showing/telling others how happy I was elsewhere that they too took a chance and did the same and are finding real fruit for their labors with a real company that respects your honesty, doesn't shun you for saying "no, that doesn't make sense, here's why..." or "that's a great plan for going bankrupt" and pays their *******n bills on time.
I could go on for days- 1950's website and forum with programmers that don't want to work with anyone to make it better to putting a warehouse manager in charge of a store with no clue to spur of the moment decisions to entirely change the way the company's direction is going and other wtf moments that make you punch yourself to check and see if you'll just wake up and know it didn't actually happen.
So, a couple final things before I go, as I do have to work at my new stress free job tomorrow morning.
1- Don't invisi thread me (you know who you are) or pull this post, as I am making a copy and will make sure it goes many places which are MUCH more seen and visible then this dead forum you almost single handedly destroyed, if it is. And I will check. Take your lumps like a man, and I was mild too. Hou have to admit.
2-In your next job or venture you decide to take once this comes crumbling down (if that's indeed what is happening), don't surround yourself with yes men and punish those that don't agree with your plans to build a deathstar out of bubble gum due to physics, complexities and more.
3- I hate to be that guy, but I TOLD YOU SO. A very long time ago, and repeatedly. Over and over. Plusier de fois. ???.maraming beses.????? ???. ??.
I think you get the point.
