The Happy thread!

Always happy when a plan comes through......

Finally got around to re-jigging my network UPS setup to account for being able to run one of my two APs directly off of my new CG-fiber. That allowed me to move the Enterprise 8 PoE (which includes the second PoE AP) over to a no-backup socket while still keeping one AP active during a power failure.

Real world performance is probably a bit lower, but estimated backup time went from 124 minutes to 179 so the swap garnered me awfully close to a full hour more uptime during a power failure.

Finally got the roof and gutters completed. Everything looks so much better now. We had old, brown shingles from ages ago that were in much worse shape than we even realized. And the last windstorm really did a number on them. We moved to an all black roof/gutter and it's definitely looking a lot better. (Especially since the new windows have black trim.) Now we need to put in new door trim and paint the brickwork black to match. And the house needs a hell of a wash this spring. And excuse the mess of a garage that ALSO needs to be tackled this spring.

Our neighbors just used Irish Steve's Eves (honestly great name for a company). New gutters might be on this list for this or next year, same company or someone else?
