The Happy thread!

Where were you overseas?? I love vintage audio gear. I have been in and out of the high end gear from installation to sales for a quite awhile and still have yet to hear anything warmer than my 37 year old JBLs after they were re-magged/re-foamed and crossovers re-capped.

Kids can put the damper on all that stuff. I have three carpet sharks, but my business is doing OK and I dont have a car hobby. I seen my buddies that do and holy crap, that is a money eating endeavour.

I too have a buddy with the wine bug. He prides himself on getting in on the $300 dollar bottle of wine when it was $60. Has an impressive collection and usually busts open a nice one or two when I visit. Actually hanging a LCD at his condo in Canmore this month, excited to see what we get into this time :)

I was quite content with the fact I may have been done with DJing as I was so bored with my controller and never bought actual vinyl anymore due to it being so hard to find, and what I did want required you buying 2 or 3 45 compilation to get the one song you wanted, and usually needed to be shipped from U.K.. But, with digital aiff and wav downloads and the advances in hardware I really want to get back into it and gigging out again. Just ridiculously fun on club gear nowdays :)

I'm still running my Polk SDA1 - B monitors, but the rest of the gear is gone. The power amp (Pioneer M90 / C90) kept losing a channel and it just got too expensive bringing it in every year or so for repair, and my prosumer DBX units became obsolete once there was a digital chain that had to remain unbroken so they ended up being sold/traded/given away.

As A die hard Seahawks Fan for all these years, that was by far the best Super Bowl game I've ever watched ;)
To watch my Team blow out the mighty Broncos and Manning was priceless, but that's not the real story......
Off the ship tomorrow at Noon, fly Victoria to Seattle, but a bunch of the shirts while I'm killing a few hrs in SeaTac, drink a few cocktails in the "12th Man" lounge, then board my flight to LA.......but that's not the real story.......
Thursday AM board my flight in LA for sunny Zihuatanejo Mexico where I'll spend 3 wks bronzing the shrine and drinking Cerveca and Tequila........+30c ;) Stay thirsty my friends and "Go Hawks"!!!!

Sent my wife's tablet in accidentally off warranty, had to wait three months and was rewarded extremely well with patience. Got a brand new far better Archos 101XS instead of the Archos 80 G9 (was the older 512mb ram model). The 101XS has a cool keyboard setup and is on Jellybean whereas the G9 was stuck on ICS.

Super happy!

My PS4 didn't get stolen despite being left outside my door, which is crazy since I live on a major road just two blocks off of the Trans Canada. It was also -30something at the time, after two hours of the thing being inside it's still freezing cold.

Wow, that would have been sweet. You were in Germany around the beginning of Techno :) I especially love old quality speakers. A heavy chunk of change in the present can carry you forward for many many years and only get marginal benefits spending obscene amounts in the far future. At the rate they are adding channels to movies I shudder to think what I full bore system would really cost... (I get cost plus 5-10%)

A nice benefit to the break neck speed of the mobile market. Cant even keep stock to fulfill warranty obligations

I really hate that stiff. I used to have a condo on a super busy street in Edmonton, and it was a walk up. Stuff was always just sitting on the step in all its glory, waiting to be taken. Luckily, never had issues.

On the stuff sitting in the cold front, had a buddy buy a monster rear projection T.V. from me and threw it in the back of his truck and drove it over an hour home at -35c. I told him clearly to wait till morning to plug it in and turn it on. He drove directly home, unloaded it and proceeded to plug it in and immediately turn it on. All he heard was "poof zzzzzappp!" and that was that. Was a cool $400 if I remember right to have repaired

In my happy news, rocking SLI Titans (still on air) and bought Skyrim and populated the more needed mods and it runs butter smooth on my U3011 and it looks amazing. I will be running these cards for a long, long while, and I am sure I will be happy with them :thumb:

Another good day. Right place at the right time. GOt a phone call, buddy asked if I wanted a 2004 Chevy Avalanche 4X4 for $400. but I had to commit sight unseen immediately. Was told it needed a tranny. It has 270K, one adult owner, TONS of records, guy wanted new, dealer did now want in trade. All it really needs is a transfer case. Needs nothing else for e-test or safety. Have it at my friend's shop, will repair it this week and have a $5K vehicle. Can't wait, tired of my car.

Well enjoyed a nice hour off of work today as it seems that's long it takes to go through the whole dog and pony show with the Canadian Blood Services to donate blood when they come by with their truck. The more important thing was I gave blood.
