The RX 9000 series thread

MLID pointed out 2 things of interest about the pricing.
  • AMD is giving out rebates to AIB or retailers as the original planned MSRP is higher than what was announced (retailers had the cards for months in their warehouse)
  • The announced MSRP won't last long because they will go up after tariff kick in later

Techspot / HUB review of the RTX 5070 contain a leak of the RX 9070 XT's power consumption. Assuming they forgot to scrub their chart and release it by mistake, it consumes as much power as the old RX 7900 XT.

Initially, it's surprising to me since AMD mentioned better efficiency compare to the 7900 XT. But thinking back to what MLID said in his videos, it's either same performance at lower power or same power with higher performance. Let see what happens tomorrow when the reviews comes out.

Hm. There are some interesting differences in some of the benchmarks. Only watched HWC, HUB, and Tiny Tom.

Overall looks to be a positive product, but the price is still going to be an issue depending on where you are buying from. Good improvements for AMD, even in RT, but not a winner over NVIDIA across the board. Tom seems happy with the pricing though.

I'm looking forward to see HUB's results of their analysis of FSR 4.

Looks like overall a good product. If they can have good volume in the market this could be the ryzen like change they need to regain some gpu market shares.

Just watched HUB and GN videos, one sticking point is the pricing. XTX already said one of their model is $700+ and with tariffs expect to be $800+. That's hard to take considering the performance is averaged 6% slower than 5070Ti. With the possibility of $600 USD MSRP being a limited time offer, not sure what to make out of the situation.

I don't understand why tariffs are being applied to overseas manufacturer's pricing in Canada. Why do european and/or asian electronic products have to deal with the US at all?
