The 'What are you watching' Thread

Had enough time to watch the first episode of Ahsoka... and not the second yet (yes it was very annoying to not watch both lol) Off to a good start I think! Great to see a lot of those Rebels characters in live action.

I still think though, as much I don't have anything against Rosario Dawson, and she "looks" the part, they should have let Ashley Eckstein continue as Ahsoka into the live action series.

For me the voice of Ahsoka; emotion and delivery; has been the core of the character, as important, if not more, as how she looks. Dawson just doesn't quite deliver that imo. I would have preferred the visual to have changed a bit and the voice delivery to be the original. They let the Thrawn Rebels voice actor be live action Thrawn... what not Ashley? And she's actually two years younger than Rosario, so it isn't an age thing.
 
well, I watched the latest Transformers move and ugh...it was a major disappointment.

the CGI was sub-standard...
the Maximals were a mockery of how awesome they were in Beast Wars
what the heck were they thinking to sully Scorpinox like they did?
and where was Rhinox gattling gun? HIS GATTLING GUN WAS THE BEST!!!
also, I was really hoping to see Tarantulus and Black Acracnia...those two had the best chemistry.
lastly, they really should have had Waspinator as the comic relief.

You went into a Transformers movie with any other expectation than it would be shitty?

I mean, haven't anything past the first, maybe second one been universally panned? I gave up after the first one. They were way too 'Micheal Bay' for me.

yes the voice definitely emotion and delivery was very noticable. Rosario Dawson did and not to bad job with the body language parts like the head tilting slightly sideways in certain parts I think it will take a little while to adapt. Ahsoka when she was younger was pretty emotional the older version doesnt seem to be so much emotionally the same I put it in my head that it was because she grw up a little so was in more control of her emotions which would explain why her voice is a little more mono tone

I asgre I wasnt impressed the CG was not that good to me it seemed like they rushed the whole story and whom ever was the editer I dont think did a very good job putting the scenes together

Maybe Ashley can't act, only voice work? But I agree the voice is just so wrong! But, at least, Chopper is back and ready to commit war crimes. Droping a Hyperspace core on a
populated city was a-okay in his world. lol.
 
I love Rosario Dawson as an actress, but this role is just so wrong for her. Ahsoka is a small, lithe form that is extremely athletic. I get that she has grown (even in the Ahsoka book, they talk about her growth) but Rosario is just the wrong body type and personality. I also agree that her delivery and voice is very wrong for that part.

I'd have LOVED to see Ashley in the role, but I think her anxiety and depression (she's been very vocal on the subject) likely had something to do with not being up for the role.

Overall the story seems not bad. It's a slow burn so far, and we'll see how things play out over the season.

Good points. Not sure if she'd have been up for the role, but when there was the initial rumours about Ahsoka appearing in The Mandalorian, Ashley was supportive (class act I thought) while saying it has "been my dream for 14 years to continue to play Ahsoka Tano in all forms".

more then likely Anxiety which I have at times which can come across as depression I have missed out on a fair amount of possibly life changing things because of Anxiety in my earlier years I feel for her and totally understand where she is coming from I also agree with the wrong body type . Ahsoka is very agile and smaller .
