Upgrade my System

No, you must use a USB. Not sure if the image creation tool would format the USB itself since I always use the build ISO option and burn it to an USB using Rufus.
I never choose iso, I choose usb and I have never had a problem. It formats the drive and puts all the files on it. It's bootable out of the gate. And if you ever have driver issues you can load the drivers directly in the drive choice screen during windows install.

I was actually going to ask about that as well. I saw on the Microsoft website there was an option for ISO. Is that what I should use? What is Rufus?

The media creation tool will overwrite anything currently on the disk. Stick to making install media (instead of ISO) and it'll prompt you through the whole install once it's created.

Rufus is a USB ISO burning tool. You pick an ISO and it will build you a bootable USB. For Windows 11, use version 3.20 because you can set options to by-pass the online account part and make a local account. I use ISO option so I can save a copy of Win10 or 11 somewhere for reuse later. If you are doing one off, just do what crazyea do and select USB option right out of the gate.

I have a thumb drive that is only for installing windows. I don't use it for anything else because I hate going through the process every time to create the bootable USB drive. It's pre-loaded with windows 10 and always ready to go in a pinch

So I finally started my build, but now I'm stuck. I can't figure out where to connect the case wires (front button wires) to the mother board. I have the Antec NX 410 case and the B550 AORUS ELITE AX V2.

I have attached pics!

The bunch of pins on the bottom, right hand side of the motherboard. It should be the same as the attached picture, but double check in your motherboard manual to make sure.

The Motherboard manual will have a drawing that has all the connectors on the MB. There are probably fan headers near the top close to the CPU socket, as well as some near the edges. It varies from board to board on the location.

Like this one, for example
