What game are you currently playing? (Screenshots if possible pls)

How did the comparisons go?
They were very close but it wasn't fully apples to apples, his system had a 4080 but his resolution was 21:9 so to keep frames up we both had to tweak some things. at 1440p I find the game is still very demanding or possibly not fully optimized.

I just finished Clair Obscure. I went a bit overboard and did a TON of the extra content. Bunch of endgame bosses, eternal tower, etc.. I finished the first play through at a level you apparently wouldn't normally get to until the second play through. :P

The story is insane. Some of the best writing in any game I've played in decades. Absolutely loved it. Thanks for the nudge @FreeKnight

It's hands down the game of the year IMO. Can't imagine anything topping it. It's the "Witcher 3" or "Mass Effect 2" of turn-based RPGs.

It's simultaneously unique while feeling very 'at home' to SMT/Persona or FF players. The story and voice acting is top notch. The surprise twist at the end of Act I was gut wrenching enough that I both wanted to quit and also couldn't wait to see what happened. Game is an absolute masterpiece.

I think the only thing I missed by the end was two costumes, one from the beach volleyball mini-game. Haven't done NG+ yet, but I'll likely wait to see what DLC is out.

Glad you liked it (y)

Edit: Similar situation regarding levels. After beating Simon in Renoir's depths, Painted Cleo, the ocean archon-thing and all the chromatic foes, I basically walked through the final boss in a few turns haha.

I made it through Renoir's Depths but only took one turn at Simon and didn't finish him. Without spoilers, I'll say that I was severely lacking in developing the players I wasn't using regularly, so that fight gave me trouble. I meant to loop back once I got used to the other characters and established builds for them, but just never did. Most of the other content I finished. Although I only did one of the gestral beaches, and I still have some lost gestrals to find.

I know there's a NG+ and NG++ option, but I think I'll wait for the extra content of DLC before diving in further. I don't want to completely burn out of it. Plus I have Indiana Jones and Doom to play through.

I ran into that my first time against him. Got him on the second try after I changed my party up. I usually ran Verso, Maelle and Lune as my main party and never used Sciel, so I only had a poorly setup Sciel and Monoco for the second half. I had all of Monoco's abilities but hadn't really spent the time setting him up correctly.

I switched Monoco and Maelle around and looked at some Sciel builds for the second try. I never quite got his parry sequence down though, was definitely a slog.

I haven't spent much time on IJ. I'll give it a try at some point though
@FreeKnight and @Caldezar are you guys playing Clair Obscure... with controller or kb/mouse?

I've started it, but as is my usual pattern... haven't gotten very far yet :)
I play everything with a controller. I believe it's fine on kb+m though. It's a turn based rpg, so while there's timed inputs for attacks and parries/dodges, it's just simple button presses and always the same key and not a 'God of War/Uncharted' mess of QTEs using a dozen buttons.

I dabbled with both methods, but haven't played enough to decide if I liked one better than the other. It's certainly designed for controller but does have good kb/mouse support.

Controller, without question. Some games are better with K+M, but this one was most definitely designed for controller. Particularly as you get deeper in to the game, there's several avoidance tactics using QT events that would be a nightmare to combo out on a K+M. Some sequences involve multiple dodges, parries, jumps and special parries, all within the same sequence. My fingers would be knots trying to do all that on a keyboard.

That's the same group I ran with. Sciel's play style was always very awkward to me, and took too long to get ramped up. Which was a bummer, since she's one of my favorite character's in the game. I ran with Monoco for a while after getting him, but he was so support heavy without much DPS. Additionally, he feels like an 'all-in or nothing' character, since not using him means you may lose out on really important skills/feet. I didn't want to fully commit.
