What game are you currently playing? (Screenshots if possible pls)

Started "Sleeping Dogs" that Caldezar recommended. I've had it on Steam for ages, so it was a good excuse to prune something from my backlog.

Starts a little slow, but there's some potential. Downsides are the graphics haven't quite held up, the textures and models definitely show a X360 game, even on a modern PC and the controls are a bit clunky. Movement is a little off and the driving isn't nearly as tight as GTA (or a CP2077 post PL patches).

Story shows some promise though, and it's always nice to have a GTA-esque open world where you can be 'the good guy' for a bit. I think I'll enjoy my time with it, even if I don't fall head over heels like I generally do with RPGs (W3, ME, etc)

Make sure you download the updated texture/lighting pack. It doesn't work miracles, but it makes a big difference.

Steam has it all bundled in a 'high resolution texture pack' in the DLC section.

I have the Definitive edition and from what I can find, the HD textures are automatically included and installed with it.

Think I'll check Nexus for some tweaks too. A reshade might do a lot of lifting to up the graphics.

I am having a surprisingly good time playing Dune: Awakening, I loved the book, loved the remade movies, and now I am delving into the Game itself. Its been quite the ride for sure.

Anyone else playing ?

Finished Sleeping Dogs over the weekend. I liked it, not quite as much as True Crime LA back in the day but it had some highlights. Ending felt a bit rushed and obviously left open for a sequel (which won't happen with the studio closed).

Trying to be objective I'd give it a 7/10, but a solid 7 given that it was a small studio trying to a GTA game while letting you play the good guy. With a bigger team and budget it could have been a real GTA contender.

Moved onto "Visions of Mana" since it popped up on gamepass and... it's not great so far. Pretty, but in a dated feeling way, with nothing really impressive at the 1 hour mark. I liked SoM on the SNES (played the hell out of it, but it's got major flaws), and really liked Legend of Mana and the Trials of Mana remake. This feels like it'll fall more flat than anything.

Might go back and re-play Gabriel Knight after, or do the 20th Anniversary remake, though the VA in the remake doesn't measure up to Tim Curry (a monumental ask admittedly).

I don't have it at this point, but I have heard good things in addition to your feedback. Agree about the book (although I've only read the first), and the remade movies.
