What game are you currently playing? (Screenshots if possible pls)

I played so much my FF6 snes cart as a teen, wonderful game.

My game was stolen and I had to buy it back

Have you ever played Chrono Trigger?

On the more recent side, it sounds like you're an excellent candidate for 'Sea of Stars'.

Octopath Traveller 1 and 2 are also excellent, although they're obscenely expensive and never go on a decent sale for some reason.
Chrono Trigger is my all time favorite game. I have Mitsuda's symphonic arrangement album that was released a few years ago. Owned it on SNES, PSX, DS and Steam. It or FFV is next up on my Steam 'finally finish up' list.

CT is an absolute masterpiece of an RPG.

I dabbled at Sea of Stars for a few minutes on gamepass though it didn't catch me. I've read they did a big re-write and some improvements so I'll likely give it a try again soon.

I'm about 1/3 through Octopath I on gamepass. It's a bit dull I'm finding. Great soundtrack, but the sepia palette and ho-hum introduction chapters aren't winning me over. I'll get back to it one day and I've read 2 is a vast improvement. You're right about the sale price though. It's bonkers it hasn't had a really good 'sale price' for a game that's about 6 years old, they're just hurting their own sales at this point.

I've played most JRPG series over time. Breath of Fire, Star Ocean, DQ, FF, Shadow hearts, Persona, Valkyrie Profile, basically every SNES rpg, etc. It was my 'go to' genre for the longest time along with CRPGs and Sierra games. I've found a lot of the more recent entries haven't been as appealing, but I still play a lot of them.

But yeah, Chrono Trigger, 10/10. Some decent mods out to fix the steam version now too which is nice.

Chrono Trigger is also MY all time favourite game!

Sea of Stars gets better, but you need to wade in to it a bit more for it to grab you.

OT2 is MUCH better than OT1 for sure, although 1 still has it's charms. Buiit I can see your point on it feeling a bit dull early on. It takes a long while to hit it's stride.

Certainly some good games in that list. The SNES list of JRPG's really are the best.

Legend of Dragoon for PS1 is also an excellent game to add to the list.

I only dabbled with Dragoon back in the day, I've been waiting for the fan PC port to be fully completed before sitting down to finish it. They're adding a bunch of QoL features, and some stuff like 60fps support is being worked on;

For a while I was trying to play every SNES rpg that didn't make it over but was translated by various fan groups like Aeon Genesis, etc. Some were alright but there were a definite few stinkers that didn't make it over here. Really enjoyed the Enix SNES games like Soulblazer, Brainlord, Robotrek, etc as well.

I'm still playing Helldivers 2 for my shoot-em-up fix. Single player go-to has been Dragon Age Veilguard since launch, but I fired up The Talos Principle II last night and got hooked. I remember really enjoying the first one too.

You've been very quiet about Veilguard... Interesting... feel free to comment in the relevant thread if you like ;)

Finished and got all the achievements for FF6, so I was looking through my backlog for something I hadn't played yet.

Decided to finally give Red Dead Redemption II a try and it's kind of boring to be honest. The first act is especially dull. I'm now in the second act and it's beginning to have the usual R* pattern of 'slowly add options to upgrade and buy things, and very gradually open up the map', but I'm not terribly impressed so far.

It's a quality game, with high production, but I'm not loving it. I know it will pickup and suspect it'll end up somewhere around an 8/10 for me.
