lol it's crazy.

Just spent a small fortune on upgrading my network, more nas and drive crap and now a new cpu and... haven't pulled the trigger on the 5080 yet... just not sure...

Worst thing is, 3 years until I retire and plan is to move out of Canada (leader is Nicaragua) to some place warm. So I'll be selling everything before I move.

Drive prices are nuts, used to get refurbished drives from the US. Unfortunately to expensive in the current political climate.

That's why I got 4 22TB externals, will shuck em and call it a day.

I need 12+ 🤦 haven't told wife yet waiting to see if the eBay sellers on serverpart deals will do a combined deal can't justy $45 usd per drive for shipping lol.

Does US customs play any role in items being shipped from the US to Canada? Not sure if they have anything to do with export controls, but if they do, there's a good chance they're not working right now.

Not likely. ICE would be mostly interested in the driver, the vehicle, etc. if by surface. Which is why they never catch guns & drugs leaving the US. But they do have informers, so they'd stop anything from a tip. While Customs is responsible for export controls it's mostly concerned with commercial shipments - i.e. goods that are prohibited from being exported to certain countries. For Canada it's not an issue currently.

They have that 100 mile immigration rule where there's a zone they can mess with anyone and any vehicle. There was a recent video posted where a Ontario resident driving in New York state was only a couple of kilometres from re-entering Canada and he was harassed by a customs agent - told to go back to Canada...

They wouldn't even see anything shipped by air.

Yeah anything coming through Canada Post especially from state side won't be coming up here. Thank God I got my Insane tablet before the strike it was shipped with Canada Post.
