I know it's early, but just looking at specs what would you choose between Gigabyte x670 Aorus Elite and MSI Pro x670-P and why ? One difference I'm curious about is VRM power. Gigabyte has 16+2+2 70A and MSI has 14+2+1 80A. How much of a difference would that make in overclocking/stability?

Hard to say without reviews and such, but IMO, Gigabyte wasn't great for BIOS updates with the X570, so I'm not sure if I'd recommend them. Even still to this day, when CSM is disabled, the BIOS interface is laggy to the extreme where it's just annoying to use.

I was hoping for a bit of serious discussion about this. Sure there's not much in terms of reviews yet, but specs and first looks are available. Has anyone looked at the lower-end x670 boards and have opinions?

out of the boards you have suggested I would go with the gigabyte just cause I prefer gigabyte and it has higher memory supported before its an OC ( not that it matters much ) but it seems and I say seems cause I didn't dig enough to find out what audio chip was on the gigabyte board that the MSI has a pretty good audio setup going that and it have one more PCIe slot all the rest is pretty much the same

personally, I like the x670E tuf from Asus but I have always been a fan of the tuf series, with boards it's really what you're looking for the pc to do, ie do you need lots of SATA/NVME, do you not care about that at all cause you really want as many PCIe slots a board can offer, do you want wifi6 onboard or is 1GB LAN fine maybe you need 2.5GB LAN I don't know its really up to what you need/want the pc to do.

boards makers go in this order for me Asus/Gigabyte/MSI I won't buy ASRock had too many problems over the years with their boards

For audio...

Gigabyte:
Realtek audio codec (still trying to find which one)
High-definition audio
2/4/5.1/7.1

MSI:
Realtek ALC4080 codec
7.1 channel high performance audio
Supports S/PDIF output
Supports up to 32bit/384kHz playback on front panel

There's also the VRM difference which likely won't matter much to me.
Gigabyte : 16+2+2 70A
MSI: 14+2+1 80A

So far I'm thinking I'll get the MSI board, but both do look pretty similar. Gigabyte has more m.2 heatsinks, but I don't know how much that matters or how many other corners were cut to put that on there. It also has more USB ports. More pci-e and sata on the MSI is nice.
