I do need the macros, but I might have to settle to getting a separate macropad. The big issue for me with the Scope II, is the 96 part. I'm not a fan of the more compact size, everything feels too squished. That is the main reason I never really considered it, even though it seems to top most everyone's best of list.

The great thing about the 96 is that the actual key condensing is almost non existent. It's more the overall layout. I had a Corsair Mechanical prior to this and didn't know if I'd take to the 96%, but now that I have it I don't think I could go back.

*snip*

@Lysrin You got the Everest Max, did you get that through their site or through someone else like Amazon?
I bought it through Amazon.ca as their own site was saying out of stock. On Amazon though the one I bought was sold through Amazon but came from Mountain, according to the Ships From/Sold By info.

And about the Strix Scope II 96, I thought I mentioned that one in this thread, but maybe not (so many keyboard comments lol). I have that one -- replaced it with the Everest Max.

Absolutely agree with @Caldezar about how nice it is to type on, and I loved the features it had. Really thought the 96 was going to be the end of my keyboard quest. But for me and the work/play I do I just couldn't get used to the compact layout of the F keys, and how close the arrow keys are to everything else. Also I use shift+home, shift+end, or ctrl etc. type combos a lot and having to press extra keys to make that work, I just couldn't get that feeling right. Then I would switch to in office where the layout is a normal sized keyboard, and switching back and forth made my fingers stumble even more.

The 96 is an awesome keyboard, and actually a great space saving but key providing layout if you can get used to it. But for me the Everest Max ended up being perfect.

Honestly going down this rabbit hole has not been fun at all.

I hate that the Keychron V6 max is so nice to type on, because with everything else and the south-facing rgb crap (see rants) I am almost ready to just return it.

Maybe just cave and go to the Logitech G915, since it has everything I need. Not that the typing is great like it is on the Keychron, but hell at least it does everything else. Or maybe just ignore the KVM issues I get and go with the Everest Max or something.

I bought through Amazon but it came directly from mountain. The silent key option is nice btw. I didn't think I'd like it, it's amazing.

I'll never buy another Logitech again.

And Amazon.ca doesn't have it anymore. Well they have the core but that is it.

Looked at the direct site and it will not let me pick canada as a country only US, which is weird.

Update: Now even the core is unavailable from Amazon. So Everest Max is a no go, since I can't ship to Canada apparently anyways.

My guess is it will perhaps come back on Amazon. Perhaps the supply isn't up to Christmas levels? When I search for it, it is still there just Currently Unavailable.

But if you shop like me ;) and want it now... yeah that's frustrating.

EDIT: oh wait. That's weird. When I search I get the Everest Max, but when I click it takes me to the Core. The Core is currently available on Amazon but that model wouldn't get you what you want.

$300 CAD shipped and that's before dooty n taxes!

That's basically the same as retail. decent keyboards are expensive. My Scope ii was $225 as a local retail purchase, and I think I spent nearly $200 on my Corsair several years back. It doesn't get REALLY crazy until you get in to fully custom boards. I know people that have spent $500 on a keyboard.
