Just a heads up, Mountain does NOT ship to Canada. Basically said try Amazon.

See I was thinking of maybe just grabbing the core and then do the numpad separately, but that is a no go.

I wonder if that's a recent change with the CP strike? I thought they used to, but I'm not absolutely certain.
I thought they used to too. I'm sure when I bought mine I had the option of buying direct but ended up going with Amazon only because I wasn't sure if I'd get nailed with customs, etc. and that was covered in that Amazon price.

Core is still showing available on Amazon.ca, but only the Gunmetal Gray, Red - Linear & Quiet version. And the Core wouldn't get you any macro keys. Honestly I'm not sure you'd be happy with it. It isn't expensive though.

This was the Amazon link I found:
Really long messy Amazon link to the Core :)

Fortunately I'm not buying anytime soon so it's not an issue haha.

I do think it used to be an option because I had looked back in the day but balked at the price.

Yea I had seen that. I was even considering purchasing that then getting the numpad and such direct, but that is just not happening now. Not sure exactly what I'll do for now.

Honestly if I could find some proper working shine-through keycaps for south facing rgb, that aren't $100+ then I would just get a macropad and stick with the V6 max.

I'm not sure I've ever seen decent shine through keycaps designed for south facing RGB regardless of price point. If you want shine through, you pretty much have to find a keyboard model you like that comes with it stock.

Ok so with redoing most of my machine I figured it was a good time to actually remove my old keyboard and work on the Keychron V6 Max.

Once again typing on it is nice, but the rgb is even worse than I thought. I have some pudding keys and they look nice and all that but the shine through is super limited. What is worse though is that there is no way to configure the rgb per key. Why have per key rgb and then not let you configure it fully?!?

I don't need fancy flashing and shit, just static with different keys having different colors. Like the numpad and arrow keys etc. I've been able to do this on my Corsair boards for like at least the past decade, just no excuse for what should be premium keyboards not to have the option.

So yea that is the nail in the coffin for Keychron and that means all of them cause from I see none do it. Seriously what is even the point of having rgb if you make it the least functional possible?

For those with the Everest, can you set the rgb color per key? Not that I can get it right now, but just in case.

Yes Sir you can. You use the Custom setting in the Basecamp software and select the keys you want to change.

Appears all the predefined modes, Static, Breathing, Colour Wave, etc. are all available per key, but I didn't test them all. Here are a couple pics. Pardon the dirt! :)

It did seem that the WASD and arrows set to red didn't seem as red as when I have all keys set to red, but maybe that's just a trick of they eye. Anyway, you can certainly set the keys to whatever you want it seems. I hadn't tried that before.

EDIT: I just noticed I didn't have the brightness all the way up and I clicked their default red and not the pure red (255,0,0) that I use in my full red setting. When I correct those differences the single key red looks identical to my full setup, as you would expect.
