If there was a $100 TV that did the exact same thing as the $900 TV I'd buy it. For the same reasons I chose the $50 power bar over the $600. Or the $30 hdmi cable over the $200 monster hdmi cable.
But these headphones...truly, I've yet to hear anyone say that they are not capable of what they promise, including professional recording artists.

I've played in bands my whole life. Rythym and lead guitar and bass. I spent 2 years in the studio too, as a hired session musician and cut a cd with one of my bands. There is such a huge gap between even high end audiophile and professional sound gear. The biggest gap being consumer stuff colors the sound to sound better to most peoples ears whereas studio equipment is designed to reproduce the sound as exact as possible. That is why they are called monitors and not speakers. They are purchased purely on specs too. Not opinion.
That said, I'll take headphones by Grado or Sennheiser over anything by monster every time.
