Hot Deals!!!!!

Office comes out in 3 year cadences so the next version would likely be 2024...which is one of the attractive features of 365.
That is true, but I've rarely found that I needed the latest and greatest Office suite, as long as the one I am using is still getting security patches and the like.

That's exactly it. No real need to have the most up to date office unless you're in a very niche situation. I wouldn't use Office 2001 anymore, but even going as far back as office 2010 is probably still fine, particularly if you're only doing basic word, excel or powerpoint. MS Access is probably the only one where it might be more crucial depending on a work environment, and in those situations it's likely the employer is providing it.

Yeah, but wasn't office 2001 the last pre-ribbon release? ;)

Office Pro Plus Lifetime license for $29.99 USD

Not sure if it's OEM or Retail versions, so transferring it to new builds could be an issue, but that's a heck of a discount off the regular price. I snagged two. Pretty sure that techspot's store is completely legit and not grey market resales, though it's not like MS really seems to stop grey market licenses.
These are definitely grey market. "Sold by nerdgeeks".

My work is still running 2013 as its approved version on most networks. Office 365 or 2021 (or 2022?) may be getting approved soon... whatever that means. 2013 still does pretty much everything we need as you said.
