Rants etc.....

Well I procrastinated all summer to plumb up sump pumps for windows wells.

And yesterday it started thawing like mad. Try the pumps I bought last spring. Window wells are too shallow to get the floats to trigger. And I can't get the pumps to prime the air out of the garden hoses.

BUT with no hose, they'll shoot water a good 15 feet away. So that's the plan lol. Will leave float outside of well in an always on position. Then use a smart timer to run pump for a minute every hour. And just blast it as far away as possible.

Fortunately I didn't personally get bit by it, but apparently the newest firestick versions running the latest OS (Vega OS?) do not support third party apps (like Jellyfin).

They no longer use Android, so I believe no side loading at all.

Thankfully my 'hacked' FireTV 4K Max have been great.





Gas up 25c here in last couple days. Really thankful I don't really pay for my own fuel. Will be costing work about $100 / month for just me tho. And I have one of the most efficient cars in the fleet.
 
Is this a hub for theives in the Amazon chain? Ship/sold by Amazon means nothing now is asked if they could send a new one since this one has obviously been stolen or the "Damaged During Shipping" when they wanna steal items. My x870e ROG Crosshair Extreme is coming from same place and I'm guessing it'll say delivering x date but blow past it like my GPU did.

It's hard enough getting items here but now can't even trust Amazon sold by shipped by to be able to do the job 🤬

This was to be a Red Devil 9700XT GPU
Now I Gota wait till Thursday to see my motherboard probably say same this oh it's running late then unknown delivery date.

Well my experiment with SmartTube is over. Casting is just so annoying, it trumps all the annoyances with the normal YouTube app.

I often cast from phone so I can share vids I'm watching on TV, interact with comments, or if I need to search. But its just straight up annoying af with SmartTube. Until I manually disconnect casting on phone YT, it will stay connected for eternity. I was watching vid on SmartTube, switched to Plex. Watched 20 minutes of show. Unlocked my phone, and it opens up SmartTube on TV, and starts playing vid again. It will literally do this endlessly. Doesn't matter how many times I've stopped playback on that vid on SmartTube either. Could be watching a different vid altogether. Touch phone, reopen the original vid.

There was a bug report from 2 years ago for the issue. Author decided it wasn't a bug and was closed.
 
Microsoft...this is a new low! on the Outlook web portal, without a premium account, there are ads at the top of every box and folder as well as the far ride side of the browser window. the ad I just saw is...not sure what the term is, but NOT ethical in any way, shape or form!

I had an intermittent issue with my D key last night, sometimes it would register, sometimes it wouldn't. It happened in the middle of a Helldivers 2 round, so I couldn't strafe or move right, I had to spin then move forward then spin back. I managed to finish the round then swapped the switch out with the F12 key. I think that's the first mechanical switch I've had fail on me. The nice part is Glorious put a keycap/switch tool on the back of the keyboard so I didn't even have to look for one. Now I just have to find my spare Speed Silver switches. Or not. I use the F12 key rarely or maybe not at all.
