200GB to 25GB: Canada gets first, bitter dose of metered Internet

The only party i see benefiting from this (other than ISPs) is blockbuster, at least now they have an opportunity to re-emerge...

It's not going to stick.

In this day and age this is a completely archaic formula for disaster. There are countries in Europe that have written complete free and unobstructed access to the internet into their charters of rights and freedoms for god sakes and Canada is trying to limit it's citizens access.

Time to go to elections and dissolve the CRTC and put a modern organization in it's place.

Our Conservative Government is focussed on the economy and creating a positive environment for job creators and business to flourish. Canadians can count on us to do what is in the best interest of consumers.”

So a boom for the collection agencies then when people can't pay their bill?

I've been spreading the word about Teksavvy for years now ever since I became one of their customers. I feel like i've been slapped in the face at this point lol. Going from an essentially un-metered 200GB line to 25GB is absolutely RIDICULOUS. I'd like to give Mr. Clement a piece of my mind right about now.... This is an absolutely stifling decision which openly empowers a big telco. Bravo CRTC, bravo....

I always forget that it is also considered Bandwidth online gaming and surfing thwe web. which makes me wonder about people like my Nephew that has his Wow on in windowed mode 24/7 he must be using allot of bandwidth.

Shocker...people finally starting to clue in...

They only introduced caps in general.... how many years ago (5-8yrs) and people would say how these caps are way more then anyone will ever use.

Well I hope your bloody well happy with yourselves:censored:
