Ok well after much messageboard searching and what not it seems that the driver error I get in vista is related to the 8800 series of graphics cards TONS of people on nvidia forums trying to find a fix for it. proformance has gone up a bit returning to the previous drivers version 169.25 instead on 169.32 I get around 16000 in vista regularly @ 3.1ghz still getting 17432-17532 in XP (friggin vista i swear) well if anyone has heard of nvlddmkm is the error and the message says Display Driver stopped responding and has recovered.
I get that error when I turn the clocks up above 725 on my xfx 8800gt Alpha dog, runs fine in vista if I stay below 725...?
I have my Dual XFX Geforce 8800 GT xxx AD Edition (my god that is a long product name) both running on stock clocks. So OC on them isn't the problem. I was wondering if it is a power issue as I am only running an Antec NeoPower 500w PSU(ordered an exchange for the 650wSLI certified one), but it all runs fine in XP(dual boot) I meet the min requirements for the cards and everything else, but I can't figure out what the hell the issue is. Loaded the drivers from Nvidia 169.25. maybe I should trry OCing them to 720ish LOL seems to work for others
Exactly, just means the OC is not stable.Hmm. I didn't think it had anything to do with Vista per say, just the GPU becoming unstable with the overclock..
